LOST Recap

Dr. Linus
I apologize for my lack of LOST posts, I just really don't know how I feel about this season. The reason why I love LOST is because it is all questions. I don't like the answers and I think they're giving too much away. I know most people do want the answers, but that's really not they're style.

Here's what I thought about last night:
  • I miss Sawyer.
  • I felt bad for Ben. Especially when Hurley and Jack came back to the beach. He just looked so sad standing there.
  • I was waiting for Flocke/Smokey to come get his ass when he chose to follow Ilana instead of going to find Flocke. Especially after he helped him escape and lead him to the riffle.
  • I like how Ben choose his "daughter" over his career as a principal. Makes you think that decisions in the alternate time line are people correcting what went wrong on the island for them. (Maybe the things they're sorry for/regret.)
  • Ben and Alex were studying the East India Trading Company and the Charter Act of 1813. That ship looks an awful lot like the Black Rock, does it not?
  • Richard clearly came to the island on the Black Rock. He said he hadn't been back there since he arrived on the island.
  • I love love that the dynamite didn't explode and Jack said "want to try another stick?"
  • I'm not sure why Richard officially hates Jacob now. Any ideas?
  • I guess everyone that Jacob "touched" can not die? Or maybe just can't kill themselves?
  • I hated the end with the sub/Widmore. Sigh.
But the season is still very "blah" to me. Thoughts?

LOST Recap

The Substitute
Wow. Just wow. Last night was one of the best episodes in a long time. So much better than last week when I couldn't even muster up a recap post that didn't say "I just wasted an hour of my life" because it was so awful. But, wow. Let's see...
  • On the island...(2007)
  • I loved the scene of Locke flying around as the smoke monster. That scene alone was better then all of last weeks episode.
  • Poor Richard. He really has little to no clue what's going on. I do like him though.
  • Flocke could see the boy, but Richard could not.
  • Sawyer could see the boy and Flocke was surprised by that. Perhaps he could see him because he is on the wall as a possible "substitute" for the island.
  • I think the boy is Jacob.
  • The boy tells Flocke he "knows the rules" and "he can't be killed"... so, who is he? Sawyer? I think that Flocke is unable to kill anyone on the list.
  • Sawyer and Flocke head to the cave on the side of a cliff where Flocke sees a black stone and a white stone standing equal on a scale. Flocke picks up the white stone and throws it into the ocean telling Sawyer that it's an "inside joke." Another form of symbolism of good (Jacob) vs. evil (Flocke/Nemesis/Man in Black).
  • They walk into the cave to see a very extensive list of people's names, most of which are scratched out. The names that are left uncrossed are: 4-Locke, 8-Reyes, 15-Ford, 16-Jarrah, 23-Shephard, 42-Kwon (either Jin or Sun)
  • The list is people that Jacob has touched at important times in their life.
  • Jacob touched Kate (when she was younger and stealing the NKOTB lunch box) yet she wasn't on the list. I wonder why?
  • What is the significance of the numbers as they are listed next to the names? (Why is Locke number 4, etc?)
  • Lastly, Flocke explains to Sawyer that these names are possible substitutes that Jacob feels could protect the island ("from nothing") and gives Sawyer 3 options: (which I had to look up)
  1. Do nothing. See how all this plays out.
  2. Perform Jacob's job. Protect the Island.
  3. We just go. We get the hell off this Island and we never look back. We do that together.
  • It appears as though Sawyer is choosing option 3.
  • Off the island... (2004)
  • Locke comes home from the walkabout and we see that he was suppose to be on a business trip.
  • He's engaged to Helen, which clearly signifies that the island explosion in 1977 has changed the lives of everyone. In previous seasons/episodes, it was revealed that Helen left Locke because of his unhealthy obsession with his dad (remember the phone calls to the call girls and he would call them all Helen? One of the reasons why Locke went on the Walkabout.)
  • Locke and Helen discuss their wedding and Helen tells him that she wants to elope with just her parents and Locke's dad present.
  • Obviously Locke and his dad have a different relationship now.
  • If Locke is paralyzed and his dad is a honored guest at his wedding it's safe to assume that Locke's dad did not push him out of the window. Locke has now become paralyzed a different way. But how?
  • Locke seems to have the worst luck ever, while Hurley is now "the luckiest man in the world."
  • Locke gets fired from Hurley's box company, his wheel chair ramp gets stuck about 6 inches from the ground causing him to fall on the lawn just as the sprinklers when on. Yikes.
  • Hurley, however, parked right next to Locke and although Locke was trying to scratch Hurley's Hummer with his wheel chair ramp, it magically gets stuck just inches away from his car (Locke = unlucky / Hurley = lucky.)
  • If Hurley won the lottery (which we are assuming by his ownership of a Hummer, the box company, the chicken place, etc.) then what numbers did he use to win? Without the island, there's no way he would have found out about 4,8,15,16,23,42 and then been able to play them.
  • Hurley helps Locke get a new job through the temp agency he owns, and Rose supervises.
  • Locke ends up being a substitute teacher where he runs into Ben, who is teaching European History. Significant? I think so.
  • How is Ben in 2004? He was on the island when it exploded in 1977. He was at the Temple being healed (remember, he was shot and they took him to Richard to be healed. Richard proceeded to take him to the Temple.) If the "alternate timeline" of 2004 is "what would have happened" then how is Ben alive?
I love this show.

LOST Recap

LA X
I've been running around like a crazy person all morning, so I really don't have the time I really want/need in order to fully commit to my recap. I will say that I'm still not sure how I felt about the show. Parallel universe? Kinda predictable. I guess that's what needs to be done though. I'm wondering how they will bring it all together {will their worlds collide?} I'm excited to find out.

I do have to admit to you that this pregnancy has really impacted my ability to stay up until 11pm, for any reason... especially to watch LOST.

I always DVR the show and then start watching my DVR'd version 15 minutes later for every hour that the show is on. Because last night was from 8-11pm and was 3 hours long, I should have technically started watching it at 8:45pm. Yeah... I couldn't wait that long. By 8:30 I was getting restless and had to start it. Which means that by 10:30ish I caught up to "real time" and could no longer fast forward through the commercials. Well that just put me over the edge.

I fell asleep.

I did. I'm embarrassed to admit it. So when I woke up at 10:55pm, I had to rewind to where I last remember seeing it and watch from there.

I fell asleep again.

Yep, it's the truth. So, to sum it up... it took me 25 minutes and FOUR tries {yes, I fell asleep 4 times} to watch the last 10 minutes of the show. But I did get through it.

But back to the recap....

Okay, like I said, I don't have time to commit to a full recap, but I will tell you my thoughts on the show last night.
  • I think Jacob is now Sayid. That's why Jacob sent Hurley to the Temple.
  • I think the new "others" {The Temple Dwellers?} and Richard were from the Black Rock. And that water is keeping them from aging.
  • That might explain why Fake Locke {Flocke} came straight out of the statue and punched Richard as soon as he saw him. He also said "it's good to see you without your chains, Richard" which leads me to believe that Richard came over on the Black Rock. {Remember when Jacob and his Nemesis were sitting on the beach watching the Black Rock come to the island... Jacob seemed glad they were coming, while the Nemesis did not. Hence him punching Richard.}
  • Jacob is the leader of the Temple Dwellers.
  • I think that the paper the Temple Dwellers read had a list of everyone that Jacob had spoken too/touched before. That's why they asked everyone for their name {to compare it to the names on the list. We all know Jacob likes making lists.}
  • I think that Sawyer will try to go get Juliet and put her in that water. Not sure if this will work though because technically Sayid was still alive when he went in. Maybe it just saves lives, it doesn't bring people back??
  • Clearly Flocke is the smoke monster and Jacob's nemesis/ the man in black. He tells Ben "I'm sorry you had to see me that way."
  • I think that the island never existing from 1977 on, has obviously altered the lives of the people on the plane. Let's see....
  1. Hurley now considers himself "lucky"
  2. Shannon never got on the plane... she stayed with her boyfriend.
  3. Desmond was on the plane. {Perhaps Jack recognized him from running on the steps. Although at that point, Desmond was training for sailing around the world which he may have never done?? He certainly would never have been stuck on the island because it didn't exist past 1977.}
  4. Walt & Michael? Where were they?
  • I'm not sure how they're going to work in Christian's body never getting on the plane.
  • I think they are hinting to the fact that the Oceanic crew will be intertwined regardless of if the plane crashes. {i.e. Jack gives Locke his card to fix his spine/ Kate and Claire end up in the same cab leaving the airport, etc.} I'm interested to see how the "2004/plane never crashed" scenarios play out.
  • Then there's the whole thought process of what does and does not exist now that the island blew up in 1977?? For example: if Ben was on the island as a young lad in 1977, then he would have died when the bomb went off, right? Meaning that in this alternate/parallel universe that is 2004, Ben would no longer exist. It hurts my head just thinking about all the possibilities.
And after writing this entire recap, you know what I got out of it? I can't spell Nemesis.

Y3W- LOST Edition

Can you believe that we have not seen this wonderfulness since last May!?! It's shocking that we even survived this long without it, and here we sit, just one week away from the final season of one of the greatest shows of all time. LOST.

Have you noticed that they refuse to show a preview of the season premiere? Yep, all of the commercials that they have shown are all events from previous episodes. There is not one commercial that has shown a preview of next week's premiere. Only the title has been leaked: LA X {space intended.} Just another reason why I love this show- the title means everything.

Last season, I decided that I would do a recap post after each episode. {You can read them and refresh your memory here.} One of the main reasons I enjoy this show {besides the fact that I am intrigued by the mysteriousness of it}is so that I can discuss it with friends and family the next day. {Or sometimes during the show. Or right after. All via phone, texting, and/or GChat.} Everyone has a different take on what happened in the episode, along with different predictions of future events and I love it. LOVE it.

So I think I will continue the tradition this season and post a recap {as soon as humanly possible} after each episode. I enjoy writing them and remebering all that occurred, while also posting my predictions for the future. I would love to hear your thoughts as well, so I hope that you will contribute by posting comments. I also put a poll on the side just to see how many readers watch LOST =)

Until then... one more week.

LOST Recap

The Incident
Annnnd back. Last night's season 5 finale was awesome. There were more questions then answers which is the way I love it. I don't like when they have weeks of shows that just give stuff away. Maybe if the show started off that way, but it didn't. It makes you think. It makes you question everything. That's the LOST I know and love and last night's finale was it. Below are my thoughts/theories/questions...
  • Jacob-
  • I must start off with the fact that Jacob is hottttt. I might like him more then Sawyer. I'm not sure.
  • Jacob was shown on the beach with the Black Rock coming to the island. His enemy {who does not yet have a name} for some reason wants to kill Jacob, yet he can't.
  • Jacob visits Kate, Locke, Sawyer, Jack, Hurley, Sayid, Jin, and Sun. And don't forget the heavily bandaged Iliana who clearly knows Jacob and has worked with/for him before, it seems.
  • They made a point to show Jacob touching everyone.
  • Jacob gave Sawyer a pen, Kate a lunchbox, Locke breath/life, Jack a candy bar, Jin & Sun wisdom, and Hurley a guitar. Significance? Let's see...
  • If Sawyer didn't have that pen, he wouldn't be able to finish the letter at a time when he was so clearly hurt and angry at "Mr. Sawyer.". Jacob encouraged that.
  • Kate would have been in trouble had Jacob not bought the super cool NKOTB lunch box for her.
  • Would Locke have died, had Jacob not touched him?
  • Jack's candy bar was rightfully his {he paid for it} so technically one could argue that Jacob didn't give him anything that wasn't already his.
  • I think the guitar {a true reminder of Charlie} coupled with the advice from Jacob that Hurley was actually blessed and not insane, really helped get him onto the Ajira plane.
  • Jacob gave Jin and Sun his wisdom that they will/should always be together.
  • The only "flashback" that Jacob did not appear in was Juliet's, however that was clearly foreshadowing the future of herself and Sawyer. Two people can love each other yet not stay together.
  • The Enemy-
  • Jacob's enemy is the smoke monster or is in control of the smoke monster.
  • Jacob traps his enemy in the cabin by surrounding it with ashes. The ashes somehow keeps him stuck in the circle.
  • The ashes/circle was clearly broken by someone which allowed Jacob's enemy to leave.
  • The enemy has the ability to take on any form and take over any dead body that has not been buried.
  • The enemy has appeared in past episodes as Christian Shepard, Hurley's insane friend { you know... the guy who played Charlotte's husband in SATC} the horse for Kate, Mr. Eko's brother, and many other forms for different people.
  • It was the enemy that appears as Christian Shepard and tells Locke to turn the wheel. Also, he tells him that he must die. Coincidence that he takes over Locke's body when he returns? I think not.
  • Eloise is working with the enemy. She insisted that Locke's dead body be brought back to the island on the Ajira flight.
  • As soon as Locke returned, the enemy took over his body. He knew all of Locke's memories and thoughts, yet it wasn't Locke. Shall we call him "Flocke" {fake Locke}?
  • When Ben went to be judged, Flocke made sure to go with him. When Ben sees the smoke monster, Flocke is not there. He leaves to go find something to help Ben, who has fallen into a floor below them. Yet, Flocke suddenly appears after the smoke monster had judged Ben and after Ben's daughter appeared to him.
  • Flocke/the enemy has to be in control of the smoke monster because of this. Also, he appeared as Ben's daughter, Alex, and specifically told/convinced Ben to do whatever Locke said.
  • Because Flocke could not kill Jacob himself, he needed someone to do it for him. His ability to appear in any form is what ultimately led to the killing of Jacob. Ben was his pawn {poor Ben.}
  • Richards line that Jacob can "only be seen by one person at a time" is very important. He knows that his enemy can't kill him and that he would need someone to do it for him. So, by only being seen by one person, this keeps Jacob safe from his enemy.
  • I think the Loophole that the enemy found was the island skipping through time. This allowed Locke to tell Richard that he was the leader. Additionally, it allowed the enemy to appear as Christian Shepard and tell Locke that he must die. When Locke returns, the enemy takes over his body, convinces Ben to kill Jacob, and waaaa laaaa- the deed is done.
  • 1977-
  • Radzinsky and Paul are dead {or so it seems.} Praise the Lord. I hated their characters.
  • They show Pierre's hand being trapped by the metal. At least one of the Orientation videos shows him with a prosthetic hand that he said was caused by "The Incident." Is this foreshadowing that the detonation of the bomb always happened {"whatever happened, happened"} and that nothing will change because of it as the Oceanic crew had hoped?
  • Miles references this when he says "did you ever think that we caused 'The Incident'?"
  • Um, how can Juliet fall alllll the way down the shaft and have allllll the metal within a 100 feet fall on top of her, yet she didn't die? Yeah- that's believable.
  • Richard clearly states that Eloise was pregnant {with Daniel, we assume} and that she was their leader.
  • Saywer, Kate, and Juliet run into Vincent {!!!! :) } Rose, and Bernard. I love how they said they were retired which is why they didn't want to join the others at Darma, lol. They seemed very.... happy. :)
  • When the bomb goes off, the season ends the same way all the others have.
  • The LOST that appears at the end of the episode had the colors inverted.
  • 2007- {in a nut shell}
  • Everyone follows Locke to see Jacob.
  • They find the Oceanic camp a hot mess.
  • Sun finds Charlie's ring that he left for Aaron.
  • Ben admits that he's never seen Jacob and that Alex told him to do whatever Locke said.
  • Locke says that Ben has to kill Jacob.
  • Iliana finds the map to the statue in the cabin, see's that the ashes have been broken, and lights the cabin on fire.
  • Ben appears to know what happened to the statue, but lies to Sun about it. He doesn't fool her.
  • Flocke and Ben see Jacob and he immediately knows that Flocke is really his enemy. He says that Flocke finally found a loophole.
  • Ben whines a little and then stabs Jacob.
  • Jacob says "They're coming" just before Flocke kicks him into the fire {which leads me to believe that technically Flocke could have killed him and therefore, since he can't, Jacob is still alive.}
  • Richard knows the answer to the question "What lies in the shadow of the statue?" which he answers- “He who will protect/save us all" in Latin. {Yeah, I had to look that one up.}
  • The "good guys" bring Locke's dead body to Richard.
  • They all wonder who Flocke is.
  • The End. :)
  • Questions-
  • What happens to everyone once the bomb goes off?
  • Will the detonation of the bomb, bring everyone back to the same time period?
  • Who do the "good guys" work for? {Jacob?}
  • What happened to Iliana that she was all bandaged up?
  • How does Iliana know Jacob?
  • Why did Richard allow Flocke in with Ben to see Jacob?
  • How does Jacob leave the island?
  • What happened to destroy the statue?
  • How did Jacob and his enemy get to the island and when did they come?
  • What is the enemy's name and who is he?
  • What can't the enemy kill Jacob?
  • Why did Jacob no longer feel that the cabin was a safe place for him to live?
  • Why does Locke tell everyone to rest up at the Oceanic camp because they're "going to need it?"
  • When Jacob says "They're coming" who does he mean? {Iliana et al?}
  • The final season- {2010}
  • I don't think the detonation of the bomb changed anything. I think it always happened.
  • I don't think the bomb killed anyone. Even Juliet. {I mean, look at Desmond... he turned the key to blow up the hatch in the season 2 finale and he's still here.} The fall may have killed her. But not the bomb.
  • I think that the writers/producers will tie everything- that we need to know- together, but in great LOST fashion, there will always be unanswered questions.

Sooooooo what are you thoughts/theories/questions about last nights season finale?? How do you think the final season will play out?

Lack of LOST

You LOST fans may have noticed that I haven't done a recap post in a few weeks. That's probably because I've absolutely hated the last 2 episodes. I'm really disappointed in the turn that the show has taken and that makes me so upset! I've always been a huge fan and defended the show to no end, but lately it's just been, well.... horrible. It's so bad that I've actually had to keep myself awake to watch it.

Tonight is the season finale episode. I'm hoping that they redeem themselves with this one. It's 2 hours and I'm really looking forward to it. I love the show so much and I have a lot of faith in their writers. I know that it will be good and I'm hoping that this entire season, which was kind of disappointing, is only helping to build the characters and plot for the final season of LOST- set to air in January 2010. We shall see.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the show lately? I'd love to hear them... maybe I'm just missing something...

LOST Recap

Some Like It Hoth
Though I thought there were no real surprises in this episode, it was still pretty good. I haven't been "wow'd" in a while though. Maybe in 2 weeks {grrr} for the 100th episode...

  • Pierre Chang turns out to be Miles' dad. No real surprise there.
  • Was Miles born on the island? Or was he brought there? They said that Pierre had been there for {at least, but most likely a lot longer then} 3 years, which is the entire time adult Miles had been there. So, because baby Miles is 3 months old, does that imply that he was born on the island, like Ethan?
  • The numbers where everywhere last night. Especially when they were being etched into the Hatch door. I wonder who picked those particular numbers to be placed on the door {or why the door even needed a serial number, ya know?}
  • Why does Miles' mom take him and leave the island?
  • I think the conversation between Hurley and Miles outside of the van {about communicating with his dad and the Star Wars reference} will play a huge role in why Miles and his mom actually leave the island. Perhaps Miles develops a relationship with his dad {as Hurley suggests} and warns him about the Purge. If Pierre knows about that, he may force Miles and his mom off the island in order to save them.
  • I like how Hurley and Miles have a similar ability to communicate with the dead {in very different ways.}
  • I'm know sure why Kate and Sawyer ever thought that they would get away with stealing Ben and taking him to see The Others. And, I know Kate is just trying to comfort Ben's dad, Roger... but for reals? Stop being stupid.
  • What good can possibly come out of Sawyer punching Phil when he finds the security tape? Good luck covering that up, lol.
  • Who is this Bram dude and why do he and his crew care so much about "what lies in the shadow of the statue?" It reminds me of when Desmond was waiting for his replacement and kept asking that snowman riddle {and I'm blanking on the actual question at the moment}.
  • Who does Bram and his crew work for? I'm thinking Eloise.
  • The show ends with Daniel coming "back" to the island as a scientist. We know that Daniel was on the island before, but did he actually ever leave? I know it was implied by Sawyer that he was no longer there, but did he actually leave the island?
  • The next episode (in 2 weeks...grrrrr!!) is called "The Variable." We already know that "The Constant" helps a person to time travel without going crazy... so what does "The Variable" do? Is it even a person or is it a number- like an actual variable?

And I'll end with my favorite quote of the night:

Hurley: "How do you know that Chang is your dad?"

Miles: "Well, when my mom got in line behind me in the cafeteria, that was my first clue."

Super busy...

I was so busy yesterday that I didn't even get a chance to watch LOST :( It's sitting on my DVR just calling my name right now. I can't wait to watch it... especially since it's about Ben... my favorite character.

I'll try to post a recap tomorrow!

LOST Recap

Whatever Happened, Happened
Sorry for the delay in the recap today. I actually don't have time to write anything up from scratch because work is just crazy and I won't even be in tomorrow because of the funeral.

I'm going to link you to Steph's {how cute is her blog background and header!?! I made it yesterday, hehe} LOST recap and add a few of my thoughts below...

  • I loved how Hurley and Miles were trying to clear things up with the time travel. It's almost as if they should have just been looking at the camera and talking directly to us and not each other. It was clearly for the audience, lol. I kinda had a good understanding of the whole time travel thing to begin with, so I was talking to the TV and answering the questions along with them. I'm so weird.
  • For anyone that doesn't understand the time travel, it goes like this... The "others" and "Darma" crew are in their own past. The Losties are in their own present. Whatever happened in the past will continue to happen- for example, we seen future Ben, therefore we know that he is saved somehow. Yet the Losties CAN die b/c they are in their own present. They are no longer in the straight line of past > present > future. They're present is actually other peoples past. Make sense? Probably not, lol.
  • Great explanation of why Ben doesn't remember anyone.
  • What happens in the Temple? Is that the same thing that happened to Rousseau's crew after they went into the Temple? Remember... they thought they were "others" and were trying to kill her.
  • They may explain a little bit more about the Temple next week... from the previews, it seems to be about Ben.
  • That baby (who played Aaron) was SO ADORABLE!! When Kate was getting him out of the car and he smiled at her... omg. So cute.
  • On kinda the same note... I cried like a baby when Kate was saying goodbye to Aaron. I have no idea how she could do that. So sad :(

I think Steph pretty much covered everything else. :)

LOST Recap

He's Our You
At times I was a little bored with last night's episode, but I can say that it ended well... like always. Here's my recap...it's a short one.

  • Um, how hot did Sayid look? Yeah I know.
  • I believe that last night was the first time we saw Sayid as a kid. They've never flashed back to his family life before and I loved how it made him more relateable to young Ben.
  • Who set the bus on fire? I'm thinking Ben to create a diversion, but perhaps someone else helped him?
  • Was the bus empty?
  • Ben told Sayid that "someone" killed Locke. I'm thinking he also told Sayid that "someone" murdered Nadia as well. That would ultimately get Sayid to work with Ben to do his dirty work on Widmore's men.
  • I'm glad we know how/why Sayid got put on the plane. He knew it was going back to the island and he didn't want too.
  • Who hired that girl to get Sayid and how did she know about the golf course murder?
  • I loved the way Sayid acted on the truth serum. Too funny.
  • Okay, so the big ending- Sayid shoots young Ben as a way to get back at old Ben for making him kill again. Is there an altered timeline or will there be course correction? According to Faraday, "whatever happened, happened" which means that Sayid ALWAYS attempted {that's right, young Ben isn't dead} to kill Ben as a child. Perhaps that's why Ben is the way that we know him today. How crazy would it be if Sayid caused the very thing that he was trying to destroy? I love this show.

And to end with a quote....

  • Sayid: "Who is that guy?"
  • Sawyer: "He's our you."

LOST Recap

Namaste
I don't know about you, but I got the chills when the light went on and Christian Shepard's silhouette appeared in the doorway. :::shudders::: Let's get right to it, shall we...
  • "Namaste" is a greeting from the Indian culture.
  • The baby was Ethan! Another point for team Jenn! :)
  • There was a runway on the small island where the Ajira flight landed. There was talk of building a runway by the others when Sawyer and Kate were held hostage. It was Ben's idea to build it which leads us to believe that Ben knew that the Ajira plane would need it there in the future in order to land safely.
  • How did Sawyer have a big enough sweatshirt to fit Hurley? {lol at Sawyer calling him Kong} They did make a point of showing Sawyer asking Juliet where his over sized sweatshirt is, but for serious? Off topic, but still...
  • Why did Sun not transport back to 1977? I can understand why Frank, Locke, and Ben didn't go back... they weren't part of the Oceanic 6. But Sun is and she's the only one that didn't go back. Perhaps Sun is dead to the island? Had she stayed, she would have died because she was PG.
  • During "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" it shows Ben laying in what appears to be the Infirmary for the Ajira flight victims. We assumed the crash put him there... but I was happy to find out it was Sun's doing :)
  • Sun and Frank take the boat to the big island and see the dock a mess. The monster appears in the trees and Sun tells Frank it's an animal. When they get to the barracks, that too is a mess. Did the monster do it all? Time? What happened to the barracks in the 3 years since the Oceanic 6 left?
  • When are Sun, Frank, and the other Ajira people. They started in 2007 when they got on the plane {3 years from the time that they left the island... the pilot knew Hurley as one of the Oceanic 6} But with the flash before the crash, there was most definitely a time change for the Ajira peeps {it was night, then after the flash, it was daytime.} So my question is... WHEN are they? The scene after the crash said "Thirty Years Earlier" so I'm assuming that it's still 2007 and maybe they just flashed hours ahead.
  • Why is Christian staying at the Barracks and not at the cabin?
  • Why is Ethan's last name Rom and not Goodspeed like Horace? Is Amy's maiden name Rom, or is Horace not Ethan's dad?
  • Where is Daniel? Sawyer specifically said that Daniel was "gone" which doesn't necessarily mean that he's dead. He looked like he was going a bit crazy to me in the past few epi's. I think Sawyer was simply referencing his lack of being "all there." Very Sawyer-like.
  • We know that Daniel isn't dead because he helps build the Orchid Station. That station and the Swan are still in the designing phases, as Radzinsky referenced the model and blueprints for it last night when Sayid was locked in the room.
  • I laughed out loud when Radzinsky wanted to shoot Sayid and Sawyer called his "quick draw" Hehe.
  • I love Sawyer as the leader now. Jack clearly wants to take back this role, but Sawyer is holding strong and doing awesome. I love how Sawyer assigned Jack the janitor job "based on his aptitude tests" lol.
  • Jack looked confused at Juliet and Sawyer's living arrangements. Classic.
  • Who was behind Sun in the cabin when Christian tells her she has a "long journey ahead of her"? Was it the monster? Claire?
  • Speaking of "long journey"... how is Sun going to get back to 1977?
  • No shocker... Ben is the kid at the end. We knew Hoarce broght Ben and his dad in the 70's and that he was there as a kid and grew up on the island. I wonder how they will play it out. Will the Ben's meet? Does old Ben tell young Ben anything to help him in the future? Do any of the Losties share anything with young Ben that may alter things in the future? I know Faraday says there are rules, but you know what "they" say.... rules are made to be broken.

And I leave you with my favorite quote of the epi:

  • Frank-"I came here with a boat full of mercenaries to kill this guy."
  • Ben-"And how'd that work out for you?"

LOST Recap

Thoughts/questions about last night's episode: "LeFleur"

  • First, how can you not love an episode that has that much Saywer? Hotness.
  • We were right.... they've been stuck in the time of the Darma Initiative since Locke left. I'm not even going to link it back b/c I've said it the last 3 recap posts.
  • Daniel said "whatever happened, happened" which clearly means that they can't change the past. They were always there. We know that just by the story Charlotte told to Daniel shortly before dying.

  • I'm sorry... I know this has nothing to do with LOST, but every time I see the guy who is playing Horace, all I can think about was the actor's slimy character in The Green Mile. Now, back to the recap....
  • We've seen Horace a few times in past episodes: he was present for the death of Ben's mother, Emily, on Ben's birthday; Locke saw him in the jungle trying to build the cabin; he died during Ben's mass killings with the gas; he was married to the elementary school teacher, Olivia {who was also present for the death of Ben's mom} and also Amy.

  • Horace seems to be very important to the island.

  • Is Horace actually Jacob in the present? Or is Jacob his son that Amy gave birth too last night?

  • Who is the baby? It's clearly very special if Amy got pregnant on the island and was able to have a successful delivery. My thought is that it's either Jacob or Ethan {the "other" that Charlie killed b/c he stole Claire.} Maybe it was Ethan since he was a doctor and clearly cared so much about the welfare of pregnant woman and children on the island.

  • Is Horace the baby's father?

  • What is the significance of Paul's necklace?

  • What is the significance of the four-toed-statue {pictured}? What time frame was that built and what happened to destroy it?

  • Sooooo... Sawyer and Juliet are clearly together {big shocker, right?} I wonder what's going to happen now that Kate is back. Did you see how happy Sawyer was to see her? Awesome.

  • Sawyer uses his knowledge and experiences from the island to con his way into saving the Darma people from Richard and buying himself and the other Losties 2 more weeks on the island. What happens in those 2 weeks that makes Horace change his mind and allows them to stay for good?

  • Richard, again always looking the same age, appears in last night's episode as a "hostile" just like in the 1950's in the "Jughead" episode. What agreement does Richard have with the Darma Initiative? How and when did Richard come to the island?

  • My theory is that Richard may have come via The Black Rock in the late 1800's.

And my favorite quote from last night, courtesy of Sawyer: "let me talk to him.... your buddy out there with the eyeliner."

LOST Recap

Thoughts and questions from last night's episode "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham"

First, wow. Great episode.
Next, to the LOST producers/writers- please do not show another episode that does not include Sawyer. Please? Even if it's just for a second... Sawyer must be shown :P
Last, sorry this post is so late! I've already been yelled at by several people...lol.

Now, down to business. We finally got some answers last night!

  • The Ajira plane crashed on the island and the Oceanic people disappeared during the flash.
  • It appears as though the Ajira survivors crashed on the smaller island and not the main one.
  • It's safe to say that the Ajira crew were also the people in one of the time warps a few weeks ago, shooting at Sawyer and other Losties in the canoe.
  • Who is the woman that the pilot {Frank} took with him in the canoe {likely to the main island}? If all the original Oceanic people on the place disappeared, then it couldn't have been Sun and we know it wasn't Kate. Who is this woman?
  • Ben survived, but no word on Sun and Sayid {and where they disappeared too.}
  • Locke is alive again. Shocker. We said that last week.
  • We now know that Tunisia is the exit door for anyone that leaves the island. Clearly Widmore knew that {and must have gone there himself when exiled} b/c he had the camera set up.
  • What did Widmore do in order for Ben to exile him?
  • I wonder why Widmore didn't see Ben when he exited in Tunisia? Or maybe he did and had him followed.
  • Who's the bad guy- Widmore or Ben? Widmore played nice, Ben did not. I think Locke is just a pawn in their "war" for the island.
  • I think Ben killed Locke b/c he knew Locke is too much of a baby to do it himself. Or maybe Locke needed to be murdered. Perhaps Christian Shepherd was murdered {though they suspected drug/alcohol overdose} by Ben and Ben knew it had to be repeated to mimic the events that occurred the first time they crashed on the island. Just throwing that out there.
  • Matthew Abbadon is a very cool character. I don't think he's dead. He is just like Richard Alpert... he never ages. Ever. There is a lot more to his story then what he revealed in this episode.
  • I love that Widmore was amazed that Locke had just met him for the first time 4 days ago. For Widmore, the initial meeting with Locke had occurred decades ago. Awesome.
  • I like how Hurley thought Locke was a hallucination. Priceless.
  • Still no word on what happened to Ben's face {with all the scrathes last week.} We know that he promised Widmore that he'd kill his daughter {Penny.} Widmore must know that Ben is back b/c he told Desmond to keep her in hiding. I'm hoping that Ben didn't go kill Penny {and she caused the scrathes on his face} and that Widmore maybe had people watching and protecting her in case Ben attacked. I hope Penny isn't dead.

And now I leave you with this...

"Am I talking to a guy in a wheelchair right now?"

LOST Recap

Thoughts/questions on last night's episode "316"...

  • The show started the exact same way as the entire series started. Jack is in the jungle... the camera is focused on just his one eye opening.
  • I think the number "3" will be a reoccurring theme going forward. The flight was "316" there are "3" Losties back on the island, etc.
  • We learned that 3 of the Losties, Jack, Hurley, and Kate, have made it back to the island safely. I'm sure that the Sayid, Sun, and Ben are around there somewhere as well.
  • First, Ms. Hawkings is creepy. Second, the Lamp Post station is pretty cool.
  • I think Pierre Chang was the "clever fella" that built the Lamp Post station.
  • Does Widmore know about this station? I'm thinking no. If he did, he wouldn't have spent millions trying to find the island, when someone else has already done the leg work.
  • What happened to the rest of the plane? Did it crash or did the "Oceanic 6 but now 5" just disappear from the plane when it crossed into the "window"?
  • WHERE IS SUN'S BABY? Sorry for yelling, but honestly? Would she really leave her baby?
  • Because I think Christian Shepherd is actually (and has always been) alive on the island, I think that Locke needed to wear something of Christian's so that he will also be alive when he returns. They'll explain that in next weeks episode "The life and death of Jeremy Bentham."
  • Why do they have to reenact the original flight? It seemed like they were all acting like someone else (except for Jack and Sun, who acted like themselves.) I picked up that Sayid was reenacting Kate (with the escort and handcuffs), Hurley was Charlie (with the guitar), Kate was Sawyer (with the sunglasses and attitude.) But why couldn't they all just be themselves?
  • I think Kate is pregnant.
  • I don't think it was random that they showed Jack's grandfather. Perhaps, with his constant running away/escaping from the retirement home, that he made his way to the plane.
  • I don't think it was random that the guy standing behind Jack in line (the one that said "sorry you lost your friend") was also in first class. I think that he, along with Sayid's escort, Frank, and maybe the flight attendant, will now be on the island.
  • How did Hurley and Sayid find out about the flight? I think that Charlie told Hurley and convinced him to get on the plane. Perhaps that's why Hurley had the guitar.
  • Where is Aaron? Who has him? Maybe Kate gave him to Claire's mom...
  • Who kicked the crap out of Ben? I found it odd that no one even asked him what happened. Did Ben work on getting Sayid and maybe even Desond on the flight one way or another?
  • Jack reads Locke's suicide note. It simply says "Jack, I wish you had believed me. JL"... I love that this note was "following" Jack until he opened it. PS- Locke's a baby.
  • Jin appears at the end of the episode with a Darma suit on in the tricked-out VW that Hurley found several seasons ago. It's also the van that Ben killed his father in. Anyway, I think when Locke turned the wheel at the end of the last episode, the Losties were stuck in whatever time period it was when the wheel turned. I talked about this last week too. I think they are stuck at the time of the Darma Initiative (that's why Daniel is able to tell Charlotte not to return to the island, and also how he is able to work on building the Orchid station.) The remaining Losties are now part of the Darma Initiative.

Some of my favorite quotes from last night:

  • Jack: "Have you been here before?"
  • Ben: "No."
  • Jack: "Is he telling the truth?"
  • Ms. Hawkings: "Probably not."
  • And also.....
  • Jack: "How can you read?"
  • Ben: "My mother taught me."

These quotes just reiterate the fact that Ben is, by far, the best character on the show.

Okay, that's all I got.

LOST Recap

Thoughts/questions about last night's episode: "This Place is Death"

  • Again, our guess was correct- Eloise Hawkings is Daniel's mother. Shocking. ;)
  • For the first time this season, I didn't want last night's show to end. Great cliff hanger.
  • I will be upset if Sun goes back to the island without her baby and if Desmond goes back to the island at all. Since he wasn't on the plane, he shouldn't have too.
  • I loved Charlotte's story about Daniel being the crazy person that told her never to come back to the island or she'll die. Clearly Daniel time traveled back there to tell her. He's trying to change the future, but he couldn't. She just thought he was some crazy guy.
  • I liked how Charlotte told Daniel that she just remembered that it was him after telling him that she grew up on the island. Was it a new memory that was created in her after Daniel knew she grew up there? {Kinda like how Desmond had a new memory when Daniel told him to find his mom.}
  • I think Charlotte was Ben's friend that gave him the birthday present when he was little.
  • Who are Charlotte's parents?
  • The smoke monster appeared for the first time last night and it still sounds like a roller coaster clicking it's way up a steep hill before it falls. Anyone else think that?
  • What happened to Danielle's crew when they went into the Temple? Why were they trying to kill her? Looks like the "sickness" of the island is a direct link to the smoke monster.
  • They kept referencing the radio tower and the running loop with the numbers. I was under the impression {well we all were} that Danielle started the loop. It was in French when the Losties arrived on the island. Boone's sister, Shannon, translated it for them. So... who started the original call for help, w/ the numbers, via the radio tower?
  • Locke's broken leg is still creeping me out.
  • Why is Christian Shepherd everywhere?
  • Does the island turn bodies that enter it already deceased, into a living entity? {a la Christian Shepherd} If so, is that why Ben is bringing Locke's body back to the island? {Besides the fact that he wants to stop the time travel.}
  • If Locke originally turned the wheel, would the time travel problem still exist?
  • Because Locke now turned the wheel, did the time jumping stop? If so, are they stuck in whatever era it was when he left?
  • If they are "stuck" in the time of the Darma Initiative, that would give Daniel time to sneak into the Darma group and play himself off as a worker there {remember the first episode when he's helping to build the Orchid station?} It would also give him time to speak to Charlotte as a little girl.

And that's all I got. Questions/comments/thoughts?

LOST Recap

Last night's show was great but a little predictable. Here are my thoughts/questions from the episode "The Little Prince"...

  • This may be out there, but- the entire time I was watching the episode I was thinking that the whispers in the jungle that they always hear, may be other people time traveling. Like, if Sawyer would have whispered to the other losties while he was watching the birth of Aaron, then Kate and Claire would have heard the whispering. Know what I mean? Just a thought.
  • Our guess was correct- Jin is alive. I heart Jin.
  • As soon as they said "does anyone speak French?" I think we knew that they were in the era of Danielle (1980's when her team shipwrecked on the island.) Jin was sooooo confused. Poor Jin.
  • I think Sawyer didn't want to talk to Kate b/c he was so overwhelmed with the emotions that he was feeling towards her. He probably wasn't aware that half of them even existed. He also may not have wanted to hinder the past in anyway b/c it may have caused her to stay on the island in the future {not to mention that he would sound like a crazy person.}
  • Daniel said that the nosebleeds occur to those that have been on the island the longest. In a past episode, they have implied that Charlotte was there before, which would explain hers. But now Miles is getting them, but he swears he's never been on the island before. Hmmmm.
  • Is there only 1 lawyer in Los Angeles? Why does everyone use the same person, haha.
  • We assume that the "little prince" is Aaron... but what about Walt? Where is he and why don't they need him back on the island as well?
  • Who gave Sun the gun and surveillance reports about Ben and Jack? {I think that it's too obvious if it was Widmore.}
  • Who was the guy that had Kate's address in his pocket? Who does he work for?
  • Who were the people that were shooting at the losties on their canoe? Were they on a plane that also crashed on the island (Ajira Airlines)?
  • Because Danielle and Jin have met in the past, did they recognize each other when they met again in the present?
  • If Jin was in the "bubble" when the island disappeared, why wasn't the helicopter? Jin was floating on a piece of the ship back towards the island, yet the helicopter was flying back towards the island, at the time of the disappearance. Are we suppose to believe that Jin floats faster then a helicopter can fly? ;) Or perhaps the island only took the things/people that were at sea level?

And my mind is officially blank now {I'm tired.} But please let me know if I forgot something or if you have a different theory.

LOST Recap

Thoughts/questions about last night's episode ("Jughead"):
  • Daniel thought Ellie looked familiar.
  • "Ellie" is a nickname for Eloise, which was Daniel's lab rats name (the one from his research that would time travel.)
  • Ms. Hawkings' first name is also Eloise. Which continues to play towards her being Daniel's mother.
  • Widmore was on the island in 1954 at the same time as Daniel's mother.
  • Widmore funded Daniel's research.
  • I think Widmore is Daniel's father....(making him Penny's brother.)
  • The woman in a coma is Daniel's wife or girlfriend (the one from the picture that Des saw in Daniel's office.)
  • Richard doesn't believe that Locke is his leader. Locke tells him to come visit him when he's born and he gives him his birthday. We already know that Richard was there when Locke was born and again when Locke was 6 or 7 years old. Now we know why.
  • Where the "camp" was set up in last night's episode appears to be the same place where the barracks are set up in real (present) time.
  • Desmond and Penny have a son named Charlie. Clearly, he is named after Charlie from the island, because he brought Des and Penny back together and saved Desmond's life.
  • Charlie's grandfather is Charles Widmore. Ironically, they also share a name (b/c he was trying to keep Des and Penny apart.)
  • What happened to the bomb? Did Ellie tell Richard to bury it and surround it in concrete? Is that what The Swan station is for (and perhaps the reason they have to put the numbers into the computer??)
  • Have certain people (besides Richard) mastered time travel? For example, Christian Shepherd, who we know to be dead, but continues to appear of the island (just like Locke is "dead" now.)
  • Was Charles Widmore on the island the same time as Ben? Perhaps Ben won out as the leader of the others and Widmore was exiled?? It may explain why Widmore is trying to get back to the island and his outright hatred for Ben.

Okay, that's all I can think of. Anyone else have anything else they want to add? Thoughts?

LOST Recap

Spoiler warning... if you didn't see it yet, skip over this post :)

First and foremost, there were no Hot Pockets injured in the filming of this episode. ;)

So, what did everyone think??? I thought the episode(s) were so great. I did fall asleep for 4 minutes and had to get out of my comfy bed, turn off the space heater, and then sit up in my bed so I didn't fall back asleep. I then rewound the DVR and watched it again. Believe me, I didn't fall asleep b/c it was boring... just b/c I couldn't keep my eyes open. What kind of a loser can't stay up until 11pm?

Anyway... here are my thoughts/questions/flashbacks. Since I think it's easier to understand things in lists (at least for me!)... here's mine:
  • The lady at the end of the episode (Mrs. Hawkings) is the person that sold Desmond the e-ring for Penny. She's also the one that told him about her ability to predict death. She encouraged Des to sail around the world (knowing that he'd find the island.)
  • Des had the same ability once he was exposed to the magnetic light of the island when he blew up the hatch. Does that mean Mrs. Hawkings had the same exposure?
  • I think that Mrs. Hawkings is Danial Faraday's mother.
  • Because the Dr. Candle orientation films were filmed in the 70's... Daniel clearly has mastered time travel. It was revealed that he was there building "The Orchid" station that allows the island to move.
  • Does Daniel cause "the incident" that originally moves the island and the reason why Desmond must enter the numbers in the computer every 108 minutes?
  • Daniel uses Sawyer and Juliet to show him where the Hatch is. He then makes them go back to the beach so that he can talk to Desmond.
  • Daniel tells Sawyer that he can't talk to Desmond, nor change anything from the past. Yet Daniel can talk to him. I think that's because Desmond is Daniel's "constant."
  • I don't think Jin is dead. I don't know where he is, though... as the freighter was not in the bubble when the island moved. We know this b/c Juliet and Sawyer could no longer see it burning in the distance.
  • Why did all of the Oceanic/Scientist people stay together every time the island moved, yet Locke was with "the others" and he ends up by himself every time the island moves. Why don't "the others" move with the island?
  • Richard (who never gets older no matter when he appears) gives Locke the same compass that he gave to him when he was little.
  • Why did Sayid tell Hurley to "do the opposite" of what Ben says... when Ana Lucia tells him "do not get arrested and get back on the island"?
  • Hurley's dad was watching "Expose" on TV. Nikki and Paulo coned the creator of that show for his money and diamonds. (One of my favorite episodes... the one with the spiders that paralyze. Nikki and Paulo were buried alive by the survivors. Remember?)
  • Who's the woman in the butcher shop?
  • Who is Dr. Candle's baby? (I originally thought it was Sun in bed in the beginning of the episode. Clearly I was wrong, but it does look an awful lot like her. Perhaps her mom?)
  • Locke isn't dead.
  • Why do the lawyers' want Aaron? Who do they represent?
  • What happens if Ben can not get the Oceanic 6 back on the islnad within the 70 hour time frame that Mrs. Hawkings give him at the end of the show? Does the island move for good... never to be found again?

Okay... I think that's enough for now... though I know there's so much more that happened. Anyone pick up on any other connections or things that I missed???

LOST

You may have noticed that I've had a LOST countdown on the side of this blog for quite some time. Have you seen it lately? Take a look. We're down to hours, people.

I can not tell you just how excited I am to stare at this...
...for 3 hours tonight. THREE HOURS. The recap shows begins at 8pm followed by TWO new episodes from 9-11pm. You best believe that I will be discussing it tomorrow. If you want to join in the discussion (cause you know every single thing in the show must be analyzed and re-analyzed.... and then analyzed again) then stop by tomorrow. :)

DVR girls... the trick to beating the commercials is to start the show 15 minutes later for every hour that it's on. So tonight... start watching the DVR'd episodes at 8:45pm. You will then end the show exactly at 11pm with everyone else... but without all the commercials. Hehe :)
