So, it's been 8 weeks...

So, it's been 8 weeks for Brynn...
I can't believe how much she has changed these past two weeks! Not only does she look bigger {and fatter! :)} but she is talking, smiling, and even laughing so much more now! And boy do we love it!

During Carter's birthday BBQ on Sunday, I was able to capture Brynn just smiling and talking away to her daddy...

Sigh.

Here are a few pictures too...

Pretty girl =)

I have been slacking a little and still haven't taken Carter and Brynn for their next round of immunizations. Hopefully we can take them in the next week or so. Though it will be so sad to see them get their shots {I usually end up crying too} I am eager to see what they both weigh and what percentiles they will be in! I'll keep you posted.

So, it's been 8 weeks for Jenni...
Remember when I posted last Monday about being discouraged with my lack of weight loss on the 30 Day Shred? Well since that post, I have lost 7 POUNDS!!! Woooooo Hoooo! I was completely shocked when I stepped on the scale this weekend and saw that! The only thing that I changed was, instead of doing the 30DS workout everyday, I started doing it every other day. That's right... I started working out LESS and was able to lose MORE.

I'm not asking questions.

So, my post partum weight loss looks something like this...

Weight gained during pregnancy: 23lbs
Initial weight loss {10 days post partum}: -24lbs
Workout weight loss: -7lbs

Total: -8lbs
Goal: -17lbs to go

Whew... I have a long way to go, don't I? Yikes.

Baby steps.

So, it's been 6 weeks...

So, it's been 6 weeks for Brynn:
Baby girl is changing so much everyday! I think she's looking more and more like her daddy, which I just love. She has the prettiest baby blue eyes, and I'm starting to wonder if she'll keep them {just like her big brother!} The funny thing is... Bob and I both have light brown eyes! How random would that be if we ended up with, not one, but TWO blue-eyed babies!? I know there is still plenty of time for her eye color to change, but her eyes just keep getting more and more... blue. We'll see!

Brynn is also starting to smile a lot more lately {not just in her sleep!} She'll listen to you and then "talk" back, coo and smile. Sigh... it melts my heart! I just love our conversations everyday and I look forward to our girl talk =)

Carter continues to adore his little sister. He hates when she gets upset and he runs over to fix her blanket, give her a paci, or kiss and hug her. I love that he is so gentle and loving towards her. He is such a wonderful big brother and she is so lucky to have him. I often catch the two of them just staring at each other while Carter talks to her. I could watch that for hours.

I recently took out the activity mat so that they could both play under it and it's just too cute to watch then lay there together! Of course, I have to sit right there because Carter gets a little too excited and tends to hit his sister in the head with the little mirror. Nice.

Brynn has her 2 month shots coming up, so that should be fun. But, what do you think would make that appointment even more exciting? Why having Carter's 2 year shots done at the same time, of course! That appointment will be scheduled for next week... a few days before Carter's 2nd birthday and age 7 weeks for Brynn {our pedi does the 2 moth shots between 6-8 weeks.}

I'm excited to see the stats for both of my babies, though I know they will be in the 90-100% in everything. I tried to weigh Brynn the other day on my mom's scale. My girl is {unofficially} close to 14lbs already. At 6 weeks. I'm not surprised, Carter weighed 15lbs at 7 weeks, so Brynn is about the same size!

She is currently wearing 3 month clothing, however I had a 6 month outfit on her this weekend and it fit perfectly! The 3 month stuff is getting a bit.... snug. Also, she's wearing size 2 diapers now. Again, at 6 weeks.

I heart big babies.

So, it's been 6 weeks for Jenni:

As I mentioned last week, I had my post-partum check up {at 5 weeks} and got the all clear to start exercising again. My weight at the appointment was exactly my pre-pregnancy weight, so I'm using that as my starting point for my diet.

On July 1st, I started the 30-day shred. Whew... it's hard. But ya know what? It's getting easier everyday! Today is day 6 of the Shred and I try to get my workout in as soon as both kids are in for their afternoon naps. It only takes 20 minutes, but it's the longest 20 minutes ever, lol.

I don't own a scale {I really should buy one soon... I just have had to interest in seeing my weight everyday} but I did weigh myself at my mom's on day 4 of the Shred just to see if I had made any progress.

I gained a pound.

Nice.

I know it's early, and I just keep telling myself that maybe I gained muscle ;) I'm sticking with it, no worries there! Level 2 starts on day 10, so I know it will be a bit harder at that point. I'm looking forward too it!

That's about it in Jenn world. Although I do have a rather interesting story to share with you tomorrow. It involves a firetruck and a rescue squad, so you may want to check back later.
Mom of the year, right here.

Well, it's been 4 weeks already, and we've been...

...loving on our new baby girl...

...visiting my office at work {which also happens to be where Daddy and Aunt Kacy work as well!}...

...going for walks in our super cool ride...

...watching UP... over and over again...

...and being cool like daddy!
All these pics were taken with my iPhone, so I'm sorry if they're a little blurry. I don't have time to load my camera pics. ;)

So, its been 3 weeks...

So, it's been 3 weeks for Brynn:
My baby girl is getting so big! I'm not sure how much she weighs at this point, but I'm betting that she's gotta be pushing the 11 pound mark by now. My girl never. stops. eating. It's getting really hard to keep her full.

Right now, she eats about 4oz every 2-3 hours. And if we make it to the 3 hour mark, we're lucky. She usually starts putting up a good fight at about the 2.5 hour mark and the only way she makes it past 3 hours is if she's sleeping {then we make fun of her that all her timers/alarms will go off because it's time to eat again!} I just feed her when she's hungry.

I sure do love my big baby girl though =)

She's been sleeping pretty well at night and she definitely makes the 3 hour stretches then, which is all we can hope for! Every once in awhile she even sleeps for 4 hours straight and Bob and I really enjoy those nights of a little extra sleep. Even if it's just 45 minutes, it makes a world of difference.

Each day that passes brings on a little more awake time for Brynnie girl. Of course we really enjoy this time, but I think Carter enjoys it the most. He constantly gives her hugs and kisses and lately he's been showing her all of his toys. Brynn really likes Carter's soccer ball rattle from when he was little, but Carter Man doesn't understand why she can't hold it and play with him.

Soon enough, sweet boy.

Yesterday, Brynn and I had some time to ourselves while Bob and Carter were out, and she was wide awake! Here is a little video of my pretty girl...

So, it's been 3 weeks for Jenni:

My weight is still holding steady at -24 pounds. That's 1 pound under my pre-pregnancy weight. I even tried on some of my regular clothes and they fit perfectly. I think I cried happy tears when my favorite jeans slipped right on and I didn't have to struggle to button them.

My belly has really gone down a lot this past week. I think I can safely say that it's gone from "deflated" to "floppy" this week. Let's hope the "floppy" stage doesn't stick around too long.

I thought I'd share a picture. Bob took it this weekend, at 2 weeks and 5 days postpartum:
What do you think of my new haircut!?! I got 2 inches cut off, and I kind of wish I got it a little shorter. Oh, and I got those much needed highlights I was talking about. I really like it... it makes me feel better that I have a new do :)

Although I have to wait until after my 6 week appointment on June 30th, I'm already starting to think of an exercise plan. I'm not sure if I should do Weight Watchers, the 30-day Shred, or maybe a combo of the two? I've done Weight Watchers before and I really did see some results, but I think I might want to try something new. I'm not sure.

Any mamas out there want to share your exercise/weight loss regime with me?? I need something. And fast. I'm heading to Outer Banks in just 75 days!

So, its been 2 weeks...

So, its been 2 weeks for Brynn:
Yes, my baby girl is 2 weeks old. It's flying by already.

And what a wonderful 2 weeks it has been.

Brynn has had 2 appointments with her pediatrician already. The first was at 4 days old when she had her initial check-up. She was born weighing 9lbs 3oz and was discharged from the hospital at 8lbs 13oz {mostly due to her inability to regulate her blood sugar levels.}

At 4 days old, she was up to 8lbs 15oz, which is good... but the doc wanted to see her back in a week to make sure that she reached her birth weight. Everything else was perfect.

I took her back on Friday, at 11 days old, for another weight check and we were happy to hear that "little" Miss Brynn weighed in at 9lbs 12oz! She gained 13oz in a week =)

I tried to take a picture of my 2-week-old earlier today, but she was a little tired.
...so I had to settle for a picture like this:
Pretty girl.

So, its been 2 weeks for Jenni:
Of course, as Brynn is trying to gain weight, mama's trying to lose it.

I gained a total of 23 pounds throughout my pregnancy with Brynn. I weighed myself at 4 days post-partum and I was down 14 pounds already.

Although I was glad that I only had 9 pounds to go, I also realized that it was the hardest to lose.

Well, for some reason I decided to weigh myself at 10 days post-partum, and I was shocked to see that I had lost 10 more pounds.

That means that I am now 1 pound under my pre-pregnancy weight.

While this really does make me happy, I sure don't look like my normal self {or maybe this is my normal self... which means that I need to lose more weight!!}

My belly still feels a little.... deflated. I'm hoping that goes away soon. It's getting much better... but I still don't feel like myself. And, although I'm one pound less then when I started, my regular pants/jeans/skirts don't fit right yet. I remember that taking a month or two as well.

I guess they don't call this the "forth trimester" for nothing... le sigh.

But, when all is said and done, I'm still feeling great. Tired, of course, but so is the life of a new {again!} mom. I'm just really enjoying my time with my TWO babies. =)
