So, its been 2 weeks...

So, its been 2 weeks for Brynn:
Yes, my baby girl is 2 weeks old. It's flying by already.

And what a wonderful 2 weeks it has been.

Brynn has had 2 appointments with her pediatrician already. The first was at 4 days old when she had her initial check-up. She was born weighing 9lbs 3oz and was discharged from the hospital at 8lbs 13oz {mostly due to her inability to regulate her blood sugar levels.}

At 4 days old, she was up to 8lbs 15oz, which is good... but the doc wanted to see her back in a week to make sure that she reached her birth weight. Everything else was perfect.

I took her back on Friday, at 11 days old, for another weight check and we were happy to hear that "little" Miss Brynn weighed in at 9lbs 12oz! She gained 13oz in a week =)

I tried to take a picture of my 2-week-old earlier today, but she was a little tired.
...so I had to settle for a picture like this:
Pretty girl.

So, its been 2 weeks for Jenni:
Of course, as Brynn is trying to gain weight, mama's trying to lose it.

I gained a total of 23 pounds throughout my pregnancy with Brynn. I weighed myself at 4 days post-partum and I was down 14 pounds already.

Although I was glad that I only had 9 pounds to go, I also realized that it was the hardest to lose.

Well, for some reason I decided to weigh myself at 10 days post-partum, and I was shocked to see that I had lost 10 more pounds.

That means that I am now 1 pound under my pre-pregnancy weight.

While this really does make me happy, I sure don't look like my normal self {or maybe this is my normal self... which means that I need to lose more weight!!}

My belly still feels a little.... deflated. I'm hoping that goes away soon. It's getting much better... but I still don't feel like myself. And, although I'm one pound less then when I started, my regular pants/jeans/skirts don't fit right yet. I remember that taking a month or two as well.

I guess they don't call this the "forth trimester" for nothing... le sigh.

But, when all is said and done, I'm still feeling great. Tired, of course, but so is the life of a new {again!} mom. I'm just really enjoying my time with my TWO babies. =)

Good job, Mama!

I gained 44 pounds with Gracie. YES....44 pounds although some of it was in the form of fluid in my ankles. I have pictures that prove it. ;) Anywho, I still have 12 left to go. Talk about le sigh! I just hope I can lose it soon because we want to try for # 3 after the Summer and I do not want to START 12 pounds heavier than I have to!

Enjoy your Summer off with your two babies!

Jenni, Brynn is just too cute!! Both pictures are adorable - but I LOVE the second one. :) I'm sure you look great! Good for you for gaining so little the second time around and for loosing all but a pound of it. I just found out I'm pregnant with our second. I'm so excited! I hope to gain as little as you did - as the first time around I gained 50lbs! I'm happy to report though, that I lost 65lbs after my DS and I'm starting off fresh. :)

She's beautiful Jenni! I love the leg warmers :) And I definitely recommend getting the belly bandit or something similar to help shrink down your belly faster. The women in my culture use that religiously and it works. Just remember that your uterus is normally the size of a pear (what my doctor told me after I had my baby) and it expanded to fit an almost 10lb baby, so don't get discouraged!
