I poopin'

Oh, my dear Carter. Please forgive me.

When Carter poops, something comes over him. I can't quite put my finger on it but it's somewhere between a poltergeist and a grown angry man, possessed.

Now we all know when Carter does his business, because he usually grabs on to a chair somewhere, straightens his legs and grunts. I always check on him to make sure he's okay. My sweet boy use to simply shake his head yes and go about his business.

Not any more. No, now something {or someone} has taken over.

Our convo might go something like this... {and please, picture Carter's voice, not as a sweet 2 year old, but a scary monster}

Jenni: Carter, where are you? :::looks around until I see him holding on to a table or an empty chair:::
Carter: I POOPIN!
Jenni: Okay buddy, everything fine?
Carter: OVER THERE! :::points to the door:::
Jenni: Whoa, okay honey. You want me to leave?
Carter: GET! OUT!

And I have about 15 seconds of video to prove it {taken by my sister Kacy from her iPhone on New Year's Eve}

Did you hear it? If you restart and listen to the first few seconds you can hear him say "I POOPIN!!" then at the end he yells "OVER THERE!"

Oh Carter Man... we love you so much!

And a quick pic from yesterday {where he happened to clear his entire bookshelf so that he would have a clear space to hold on too}What can I say? My man wants his privacy.

I must also quickly add that we don't laugh at him when he's pooping, but it came up in conversation about how he acts when he does it, and then he actually did it at our NYE party so that's why we were laughing in the video. I promise you that I am super supportive of my little man's pooping habits.

But I can't promise you that we don't quote him in real life situations on a daily basis.

Who isn't right? Well I'm proud to say that I'm now offering sponsorships on jenni from the blog!

How does it work? {I'm so glad you asked! ;}

Your Three Words

17.2 inches.

That's how much snow we got yesterday.

Someone please shoot me. Okay, it's not that bad. But close.

For the first time EVER, Carter asked to go out and play in the snow. I was shocked. He even went and got his coat and shoes and tried to put them on himself. That's when I knew he was serious. I ran around the house looking for his hat, gloves, snow pants, and fleece jacket liner so that he would be all bundled up {picture Randy... "I can't put my arms down!"} for his big adventure in the snow.

Because this was the first time he actually wanted to go outside in the snow, I wasn't prepared at all. I had to run around the house looking for everything while he yelled "Bubba, I go outside!" I found everything but his hat and gloves {of course!} so I ended up just putting his hood up and throwing on Brynn's mittens. {Shhh, don't tell.}

After getting him all dressed, I carried him right out front, put him on the sidewalk and he immediately screamed "It's cold! It's cold! I don't want too!"

Nice.
I at least made him stand out there for a few minutes. After getting him all dressed up, there was no way I was letting him off the hook that easy.It only took about 2 minutes, before he started helping us shovel!
Then, of course, he didn't want to come in. He never once stood in {or even touched} the snow. He was strictly a sidewalk man. Oh well, I was just happy he actually wanted to go outside.

And here's a cool picture that I took of the tree in our front yard. The snow was so heavy that it was pulling down the branches...
Brynnie Girl stayed in her warm pj's all day. That's my girl =)
But my poor baby has a 101 fever and is headed to the doctor's this morning. Not to mention that Bob has been sick with the flu since Monday night. We just can't win this winter, can we?? Thankfully both kids had their flu shots, so I guess that mess is headed straight to me, huh?

Wordless Wednesday

...during my 3 hour commute into work this morning. 6in on the ground and about 10 more to go starting at 5pm. {There's actually 6 lanes of traffic in that photo... you just can't see the other 2. Sigh.}

Did I mention how much I hate snow yet?

The only thing that brightened my mood this morning was this absolutely adorable little article: "What does love mean to a 4-year-old?" Too cute!

My favorite: “When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.” Billy – age 4

How true is that?

EDIT: My beautiful and wonderful sister Kacy emailed me that article this morning. She also told me to put the Taylor Swift song first on my playlist because it was so cute. I hope that this little addition to the post will strongly encourage her to drop her lawsuit against me. ;)

So close to #17!!

That Mom

Ok people, I'm going to be "that" mom for a second.

Brynn was selected as one of my photographer's favorite pictures of 2010. She's having a contest on her Facebook page and the client that gets the most "likes" on their picture wins an 11x14 correction: 16x20 canvas. {Ahhhhh, now I'm determined to win!!}

I sure could use a canvas of this...So, if you like Brynnie's picture and have a free second, can you please vote for her? The link is below... all you have to do is "like" sg photography and then "like" Brynn's picture!

Click here to "like"

Sweet Brynn says "thank you!"

PS- Sorry to be annoying! I know, because I'm annoying myself with this post.

8 months

Brynnie Girl?

Oh there you are Sweet Pea!

You're such a big girl now that mama doesn't even know what to do with herself. The new things you do everyday are so amazing to me. You {clearly} love playing peek-a-boo with everyone. You totally love your new fishies in your crib...
You love playing on the floor with your brother and he's been doing a pretty good job of sharing his toys with you {though this is your toy and he somewhat nudged you out of the way to play with it...} You didn't seem to mind though :)You love love LOVE playing race car on mommy's lap and you crack up everytime we do it...
We always give daddy heart attacks because we tell him this is how you're really going to drive when you grow up! ;)

Though you're not crawling yet, you can scooch your way over to any toy that you are trying to grab. You LOVE Kai Kai and you talk to him and grab his fur every time you see him. You're eating 3 meals a day, drinking 6 or 7oz bottles, wearing SIZE 5 {ahhh} diapers and 18 month clothing. You don't have any teeth yet, but I know they're coming soon... you sure are ready to eat real food!

You haven't had a well visit in a few months, but if I had to guess your weight, I'd say you were right around the 25lb mark, which is sad b/c you just love your Jumperoo and you're right at the weight limit!

You're 8 months today, Baby Girl. Eight whole months.
And you're really excited about it...
Oh, my sweet girl. You are the best baby in the entire world. And I'm not just saying that because I'm your mom {believe me, I'd be honest with you ;} You're doing really well sleeping in your crib and sleeping through the night, which mommy and daddy are so excited about! I'm sure it was just a growth spurt that you were going through before, because you were waking up like a hungry woman who was being starved all day or something!

I think you grew about 5 inches this month. Okay, not really, but it sure does seem like it! Pants that were too long for you a week ago seemed short this morning. You love to play with your feet and your chubby legs are super ticklish... which we just LOVE.
And boy does your brother love you. Lately he's been getting super bossy about where you should be sitting and/or playing. He gets upset when you have to eat because that means he has to wait to play with you.This picture makes me laugh...
And let me just add one picture of my handsome boy who, after being diagnosed with a double ear infection and strep throat less than a week ago, is feeling so much better...
Sigh. Such a heart breaker.

Okay, it's time to see how much you've grown this month Brynnie:
Happy 8 months Brynnie Girl! We love you so much!

PS- Mommy has started planning your 1st birthday party and I can't wait to share it with everyone soon! =)

Chhh-Chhh-Changes

So, as you can tell, we released the new blog makeover yesterday. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments about it... I'm so excited!

Along with it, comes some changes and I just wanted to point them out to you.

Menu Bar:
  • I put some "hot topics" which are simply just labels that tend to be viewed the most.
  • Next to it, is a "popular posts" page that, well lists my most viewed posts. =)
  • I also put an "advertise" link, but I'll post more about that later!

Social Media:
  • I'm super excited to announce that I just made a Facebook fan page! Apparently it's the thing to do. Who knew? So if you're on FB and like my blog, I'd LOVE for you to become a fan by hitting the "Like" button. =)
  • There's also links to my Twitter {follow me!} and FeedBurner pages and my email.

Blog Button:
Don't forget to grab my button for your page! I think I may start collecting them too!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And this really isn't a blog change, but I did add a new song in my playlist {I know, I know... some people hate blog music and others love it. I happen to love it.} It's called "Never Grow Up" by Taylor Swift. Sigh. It's beautiful. Listen to the words {especially you, mamas!}

If you have any feedback, I'd love to hear it... good or bad! Always looking for ways to improve...

Thanks so much for reading... you guys are the BEST!

Your Three Words

What. a. week.

First it was Carter's double ear infection, strep throat, and high fever. Then my mom was admitted to the hospital {and she's still there!} What's next? My mom has always said that "bad news comes in 3's." I'm just waiting for something else to happen.

So, in the midst of this craptastic week, there is something that stands out to me as the highlight of the week.

Food, of course. Five Guys Burgers and Fries, in particular.
Hungry yet?

Yesterday, after sitting up at the hospital all day with my mom, dad, and sisters we decided to ditch my mom {what?} and go grab some dinner. We were so excited to find a Five Guys right down the street.

It was seriously the most greasy meal of pure deliciousness that I've ever had. And, by far, the highlight of my crappy week.

So, thank you Five Guys. I don't care that I doubled the recommended caloric intake for a single day in just one meal. It was totally worth it.
