Let them eat cake.

Cake. It's one of the most important parts of a party. It needs to be delicious {check}, feed everyone that's coming {check}, and look extremely awesome {CHECK}. When my sister Kacy {Carter's Godmother} offered to buy his first birthday cake, I was so thankful. Kacy, along with her husband, Ryan {Carter's Godfather} have been amazing and we really can not thank them enough.

So, Kacy and I were talking about exactly what kind of cake to get for the party. I told her it was completely up to her, since she was paying for it and cakes can get pretty expensive. But she said that Carter deserved a really cool cake and that's what he was going to get =) Here's what we came up with....See the Phillies logo we snuck in there? =) It has to be one of the coolest cakes ever and I can not wait to see {and taste it!!!} in person. As for the kiddos, we're making homemade baseball cupcakes! I think they will look adorable sitting around the "field"...There will be a ton of other desserts as well, but I just wanted to share the cake pictures with you!

And now for a little party planning update. There are no pictures on purpose now, because I want to share them with you after the party next week when it's all set up! But here is the link to my first planning post that's full of ideas for the party.
  • First, here's a glimpse of my 'To Do' list. It's a little out of control =)
  • The banner and favor tags that I made came in and they look absolutely adorable! I just love the way they turned out! If anyone wants/needs a banner for their party, I definitely recommend ordering it from Vista Print. If you need someone to design it to match your theme/invitations, let me know ;)
  • All the favors came in from Oriental Trading and they're cute. They fit in the favor boxes perfectly. I just need to order bubbles to add to the boxes and they'll be set. I'll probably put them all together and attach the favor tags this weekend.
  • Speaking of this weekend, Carter, Kacy, and I will be heading to my parents house for the day on Saturday to help get ready for the party {it's at my parents house!} We need to do some shopping {Ikea, BJ's, grocery store, Party City, etc.} and then head back to the house to try to get as much done now as we can. Next week is going to be crazy... I even took off from work on Friday the 17th to start the set-up process and run errands.
  • The rest of the party supplies came in last week and they are way too cute! I especially love the Phillies plates and napkins! The decorations we picked out at Party City are adorable as well and I can't wait to show you my centerpiece idea and some of the other baseball-themed things we will have there!
  • The moon bounce and water slide {which is even bigger then we originally thought... think 3 water slides with shooting guns and a small waterfall} are ready to go and we will likely set them up the day before the party {weather permitting.}
  • Speaking of weather... I really hope it's nice!!! Here's what the 10-day says {yes, I know it's way too early, but I think the ZERO PERCENT chance of precipitation is a good sign!!}

Well, I think that's it for now. There is still so much to do, but things are coming along great! One week from Saturday.... {maybe if I say it enough I'll start to believe it.}
