Weight Watchers Wednesday

Some of you may have heard this already because I obnoxiously "yelled" it to everyone on Facebook. But I had my weekly weigh-in on Monday night and, after completing week #2 of my diet, I lost...

5.2 pounds

I was so excited I almost fell off the scale! 5.2 pounds in just 1 week. That brings my total weight loss for 2 weeks up to 5.8lbs. Not too shabby :)

The only thing I did differently this week was to work out 3 times with my sister. We each did the bike for 30 minutes and the treadmill for 30 minutes. So that was 3 hours of working out for the week {along with sticking to the WW plan, of course} and look what it got me :)

Of course I don't expect those results every week, but I will continue to workout and stick to the plan. My goal is to lose 20lbs by April 18th {for my friend's wedding that I'm in.} We shall see.

One dinner that I had over the weekend {courtesy of Bob, of course} was filet mignon (5 filling food points) with a baked potato (3) and grilled veggies (0). Fabuloso. We {again, by "we" I mean "Bob"} cooked the steaks on the grill {yes, in snowy 20 degree weather} after marinating them for about an hour. For the veggies, we had squash, zucchini, broccoli, and carrots grilled in a little bit of olive oil, garlic, and mesquite seasoning. With the baked potatoes we had Smart Balance spray butter (0) and fat free sour cream (1). The point total for the dinner was 9 points!!!! Oh... and I had me a glass of red wine (2) that I bought at the winery last month. But still... 11 points for such a fab dinner. You can't beat it! See...YUM!

Okay... the next thing I wanted to talk about is the hurdle we all have coming up on Sunday. You know what I mean. Superbowl. FYI: 1 wing is 3 points. You have GOT to be kidding me. Oh, and did you know that Superbowl Sunday is the second highest food consumption day of the year (Turkey Day is #1.) Gah!

I think the best thing to do is to be prepared. Try to eat something healthy before the party so that you're not starving when you get there. Also, try to plan on healthy alternatives for your favorite apps. For example, we are making this bruschetta dip that is to die for. We plan on substituting some of the ingredients with fat free alternatives. We'll use fat free cream cheese to layer the bottom, then place fresh bruschetta on the next layer, and top it off with fat free mozzarella cheese. Serve it with either Weight Watchers tomato basil crackers or Multi grain Tostitios and you got yourself a healthier alternative to a great app :)

Also, here are a few more tips and recipes for Super Bowl Sunday, courtesy of Hungry Girl.

How did everyone else do this week? Any recipes or anything you want to share?

Congrats on an awesome week! I on the other hand did not have a good week, between me having mastitis and DD having the worst cold EVER, my diet was not up to par. Oh well, there's always next week. Keep up the good job, here's hoping you (and of course me) have good number next week as well!

That rocks Jenni!! Go you! And I think your goal is totally feasible. Keep it up, chickie!

Oh, and Chad grills year round. It snowed 8 inches here yesterday. Where was Chad? Grilling pork tenderloin outside. What a nut!
