Gracie Girl

So, after I posted on Friday, I ran to a meeting and then quickly escaped to go to the hospital to see my sister and her beautiful baby girl, Grace. Both are doing wonderfully!

Grace Morgan (w/ the hat from Aunt Jenni :)

Opening her eyes for the camera... hi pretty girl! Now, I can only imagine what Carter and Ben were discussing in the pictures that follow...

C: Give me the scoop... do you know why we're here?

B: Something about a baby? But you're already here so I think they're just kidding with us.

C: Haha... so funny. Do you think we'll get some new toys?

B: That's exactly what I think. I can't wait to see what we get!

C: Oh my gawd. What is this thing??

B: Crap. That's not a toy. Hmmm, maybe they were serious?

C: Get it off, get it off. No, this isn't cute.

B: Haha... you're stuck with her.

C: What is she smiling about??

C: Ah. That's so much better.

C: I don't mind when Mommy holds her. Just don't give her back to me!

Congratulations again Kristi and Matt. Oh, and happy birthday Kris... what a wonderful gift you received :)

OMG

Gracie girl is here!!!!!!!!!!

Backstory:
My sister Kristi called me last night and told me she was having pretty bad contractions. I told her to lay down, relax, make Matt do everything and see if they stop. Well they did for a little bit until she got up at 4am to go to the bathroom. She said they were coming every 4 minutes! Sadly, her doctor is on vacation this week (she already knew that she would be, that's why her c/s was scheduled for next week.) So she called the office and they told her to go to L&D right away.

Kristi called me at 5am crying hysterical ("this wasn't suppose to happen" / "my doctors on vacation" / "I didn't pack bags yet" etc.) She was throwing stuff in a bag and my dad was on his way to her house to pick up Ben. When they got to the hospital, Matt (my BIL) called me and said that she is 4cm dilated and 100% effaced so she was most definitely in labor and that he would keep us posted.

Fast forward to 8:30am this morning when I got the following text:

Grace Morgan Z.
September 26, 2008 at 8:20am
9lbs 12oz
22 in

I can't believe she's here! Her labor was progressing so fast, that they had to do the c-section right away. Mom and baby are doing well, thankfully! I'm at work now, but my little sister and I (we work a block from each other and commute together into Philly everyday) will be leaving work shortly after a meeting that I have.

I can't sit still.

A little fun, family, fact before I go and take an obscene amount of pictures:
-Ben, my nephew and Kristi's first baby, was born on Matt's birthday (March 30th)
-Grace, my new NIECE and Kristi's second baby, was born today (Sept. 26th.) My sister's birthday is tomorrow (the 27th.) Crazy, right?

24 September 2008

We're getting a new baby.

No, I'm not pregnant again.
No, we're not adopting.
No, we are not trading in Carter for a newer model.

On October 1st, my older sister, Kristi, will be having her second baby. You may have seen me post about my absolutely adorable nephew and Godson, Benjamin before.
Well, Big Ben is going to be a big brother to a little baby girl.

A GIRL? What do we do with a girl? I'm the second of three girls in the family, but all we've had are baby boys so far. We're not quite sure how to handle this.

Needless to say, I am beyond excited. My 2 sisters are my best friends in the entire world. We have to talk to each other every day and see each other at least 2-3 times a week. Ben is like my very own son and he and Carter will grow up more like brothers, than cousins. Therefore, I feel like I am (yes, me) getting a new baby in exactly one week.

We can not wait to meet you Grace Morgan.

Chunky Monkey

That's right, Carter is going to be a monkey for Halloween this year. How appropriate.

Here's his costume that I purchased from Old Navy:

How cute is that?

19 September 2008

Borderline annoying...

But I can't stop taking pictures. And then posting them.

Got that one last night and it makes me smile everytime I look at it.

And another one...

Happy 2 month's bubba :)

More fun w/ ScrapBlog

2 months old!!

I can't believe it. It's going by so fast.

I took this picture with my cell this morning before I left for work...

Carter decided to celebrate his 2 month "birthday" by dressing in his Phillies gear. We're all very happy that they're back in 1st place :)

MNF

Carter experienced his very first Monday Night Football game. He had his little EAGLES onesie on and was all ready for it. Unfortunately, he didn't anticipate the game running so late.Sunday afternoon games are much more convenient for him. Thanks.

15 lbs

That's right folks, my baby boy weighs 15 pounds. We went to the doctors last week for Carter's 2 month check-up (at 7 weeks.) Here are my "little" man's stats:

Age: 7 weeks
Weight: 15lbs even (97 percentile)
Height: 24.5in (95 percentile)

Well, at least he's proportioned.

Catching Smiles

All you mom's of newborns will totally understand me when I say just how difficult it is to catch a smile on camera. I have a very nice camera (Canon Rebel XTi digital SLR) that takes pictures with no flash delay, etc. Yet, it is still nearly impossible to catch a smile.

Well, the other night while talking to Carter, he was all smiles (as usual.) Instead of grabbing my expensive $1,000 camera to try and catch a smile, I decided to try my cell phone. Yes, my $150 cell phone. Here's what I got...

ScrapBlog

Everyone's been talking about it so I thought I'd give it a try today.

I. Love. It.

Here's my very first project:

The many faces of...

...CARTER.

My gawd mom, I had this crazy dream...

...and then the kid actually... ..but I thought he was totally crazy, so... ...and I was like "Really? I don't believe it."... Yes, mom, I'm serious. Anyway... ...so he said he was leaving to go get a bigger bottle...
...over there, mom...
...you should have seen this thing... ...yes, it was as big as dad's truck!...
...I need to get me a bottle like that. Hehe.

STTN

Four letters. Four measly little letters that mean so much.

Slept through the night.

Well, it happened. Carter went to bed at 11:30pm last night and woke up at 6:00am this morning. It. Was. Wonderful.

Keep it up baby boy, keep it up.

OBX Part II

We had such a wonderful time on vacation this year. I must admit, it was a lot different with a 5 week old though. Bob and I had to take turns doing stuff (beach trips, beer runs, going in the pool, etc.) while the other watched Carter. But it was still a blast and we were so glad that Carter was able to be apart of it this year. :)

The beautiful beach.

Cheeeeeeese.

Papa Joe, Ma, and me.

Me and my older sister, Kristi (who is 36 weeks PG w/ baby #2 in this pic!) What a trooper.

Ben loves the beach!

My little sister, Kacy, and I at lunch on the pier.
"I'm ready to go out to lunch, Mom!"
"Crap. I slept right through it again, didn't I?"

"Okay. I'm all ready for dinner. This time, I promise I'll stay awake."

"Crap. Well, at least I have a sleeping buddy. I'm recruiting 'em."
"Really? Why is Carter always sleeping, Aunt Jenni?"
"This is getting a little ridiculous. I'm waking him up.""Ah, I give up! I'm going in the pool."

Even the rain can't stop us from going to the beach.
Sleeping again. But, this time, I finally caught a smile on camera. :)

Carli's Parade

On Labor Day, just back from vacation, the fam and I headed over to a huge parade that was held in honor of Carli Lloyd (see my post below about her Olympic Gold Medal GOALLLLL!) It was great to see all of the people that were there to offer her support, not to mention the millions of news casters, camera's, and other media members that were present. The 4 mile parade marched from Carli's house to her high school stadium, which was packed with people.

My dad, little sister, Kacy, and friend, Maureen, were all in the parade. Also, my dad was asked by Carli to be a speaker on her behalf, which was VERY cool.

Here are a few pics:

Benjamin plane watching before the parade started.
Some of the fam.

Ben loves fire trucks!

Kacy, Maureen, and my dad before walking in the parade. They all got to wear the gold medal... how cool!

Carli laughing at us making fun of her ;)

My dad making his speech! He sat on stage with Carli the whole time.
Carli speaking.

Congrats again Carli! Everyone is so proud of you.
