WW: Vacation's all I ever wanted.

{Yeah, now try not to get THAT song stuck in your head. Good luck.}

So, we booked our house for this summers annual family vacation...
...and while I'm super excited about relaxing on that porch, enjoying the view and reading a book chasing my kids around, I'm also a little sad about it at the same time.

Not that our entire family doesn't need a vacation.  Oh, we so do.  We've been through a lot.

But as I searched for vacation rentals in OBX for this summer, I cried. Because the last 7 years that we've gone down to the Outer Banks, my dad was with us.  And it hurts my heart to think of making that drive without him this year. He just loved it so much.  And I know he would have wanted us to go back, but I think it's just too soon.  We're not ready to be there without him.

Not yet.

So this year? We're staying local.  {Yay for a 1 hour drive instead of a 7 hour drive!} We're headed to OCNJ, which we LOVE.  We've been going there since I was younger and it just feels right to head back there for our summer vacation. Not only that, but it's nice to support our local beaches this year in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

So yeah.  Vacation. I wish we could leave tomorrow.

Have you booked your summer vacation yet? If so, where are you going?

Aw, so sorry... I'm sure that will be tough. My family canceled our OBX trip this year so I'll have to live vicariously through you. ;)

All these "firsts" without your dad have got to be difficult. Wish I could reach out and give you a great big hug. :( Try to have fun when you do make it out there and that we're all here to continue to support you during those "firsts".

I'm sorry that you won't be able to spend another vacation with your dad. I hope you'll be able to enjoy yourself in spite of your heart hurting. :-( As for us, we're already booked and chomping at the bit to leave, too. Here's to us both having relaxing, stress free vacays, okay? <3

I don't think we will be taking any vacation in the summer. But In October we are hoping to go to Ireland.

We are headed to OBX Memorial Day week. We go with my in-laws and a few friends join in too.

In October, my husband and I are taking a solo trip to Aruba to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversay!

I hear you on that. I have not been home to the beaches of So Cal in nearly 3 years now. I'm aching to get back.

You'll have a blast in OC! And that just means I might have to come and meet you at Gillian's Wonderland Pier :)

I live in Maine, so we try not to leave the state too much during the summer. There's a reason they call it Vacationland! We're planning on some camping, maybe in Bar Harbor.

Aruba Condo Rentals Beachfront are awesome place to stay. You will get every facilities which make you feel comfortable. You can enjoy the beach view from your condo room. Evening sight seen is most enjoyable. You can go for a walk at any time as your heart wishes.

Aruba beach house rentals are good for enjoying the beach sight seen and sunrise and sunset right through your house window. You can go for a walk after your dinner to enjoy the cool breeze coming all over from the cool waves.

We are currently on Emerald Isle.. and have been here all week. It's been cold and rainy and not what I was hoping. I know its early April, but I was hoping the kids could have enjoyed the beach a little more, and not have to wear their warm jackets.. it just didn't look right! lol The beach is beautiful, though, and since we are moving near the Jacksonville area, I think we'll have to visit the beach more often after this summer! Maybe we'll we'll bump into each other some summer... who knows?
