38 Weeks!

38w2
Whoa.

This is serious business.  38 weeks down and one week to go {until my induction.}  Can someone please tell me when the hell this happened?  I feel like I was just announcing my pregnancy on the blog, and now here we are.  In the last week of what may possibly be my very last pregnancy. Craziness.

I guess when I think about the fact that I found out I was pregnant on January 6th, it does seem like a long time.  I mean... that's all damn year. But when you're pregnant with baby #3 and you have not one, but two toddlers keeping you busy, it really does fly by.

And here we are.

I'm actually feeling a little better this week.  I know I did a lot of complaining in my last update, but I was just being honest.  Trust me, that wall I hit?  It's still there.  Besides my aching belly and constant contractions, what hurts the most are my outer hips and inner pelvic bones/groin area.  I feel like someone beat me up {I guess they kind of did, right?}  They're sore and almost feel bruised.  I guess it's just the weight of the baby, but OUCH.  So painful.

But overall, I do feel a little better.  Or maybe it's simply the fact that I know the end is near.  I was thinking that as I was up for two hours the other night about to puke up stomach acid.

The end is near.

So, 38 weeks. This is the exact point in my pregnancy that I delivered Carter. He was 9.5lbs and I can't help but wonder exactly how big this baby is right now.  I highly doubt he/she has even hit the 9lb mark yet, but we'll see.  I have a feeling this will be my "peanut" baby.  We'll know soon enough.

As for appointment updates, my BPP was perfect.  After having ultrasounds every single week for the past 13 weeks, I can't believe that I only have to get through ONE MORE this Friday.  Just one more with no slip-ups from the tech.  I may even ask them not to say anything to me.  I don't even want to watch either.  We're this close to making it. Thisclose.

As for my OB appt, I found out that I'm currently 5cm dilated and 50% effaced. Considering that I was 6cm dilated and 70% effaced with Brynn for over 2 weeks, I'm completely use to this and I fully expect to make it to my induction next week.

I'll tell you one thing though... it makes for a hell of a short labor. ;)

Pregnancy: 38 weeks

Weight Gain: 29 pounds

Weeks until September 10th Induction:  ONE WEEK from today!

Sleep: Contracting/cramping almost constantly, pregsomnia in full force, it's all very lovely.

Gender: We're team green, so we'll find out in September!

Names: Reid Joseph or Emerson Mae {see the name post here!}

Feeling: Ready.

Health:  My BP was slightly elevated at my last appt.  We'll just watch it.

Movement: Still lots of movement, which is painful at this point, but I still love it.

Belly: Measuring over 4 weeks ahead right now, linea negra is slowly getting darker, and my belly button has been out for awhile.

For comparison, here's my 38 week {bare} belly shot with Brynn and my 38 week belly shot with Carter the day before his birthday!

Next Appointment: OB Appointment: Thursday, September 6th at 38w4d.  Biophysical Profile: Friday, September 7th at 38w5d. THAT'S IT!!

You're walking around at 5 cm????? Holy cow! I never made it past 4 cm without an epidural with either kid. Aren't you worried the baby might just...fall out? (Totally kidding, obviously. I know how babies get out.)

I cannot believe you are still walking around that dilated! When you posted that I thought for sure you'd go by this weekend, especially with the full moon. (i know, just what every pregnant woman wants to hear, but seriously, WOW!). You must have a cervix of steel. Rest up, Mama :)
