Random 101 and questions?

No, you're Google Reader is not lying to you... I actually did blog today.

I'm a slacker. It's true. I've just been so busy with everything that something had to give and unfortunately, that was my blog.

And then? Whenever I did have a free second to write? Blank. I could not think of a single thing to write about which is just so insane to me. So instead of forcing it, I did nothing. Hopefully I'm back now and here to stay.

So settle in for one of the most random posts ever.

1. I have grey hair. Like a lot of grey hair. I haven't had my hair done in quite sometime {no worries, an appointment is on the books for 2 weeks from now so I'll stop scaring people at that point} but I just realized how bad my hair really is.

I'm freaking 32.

I guess I just never noticed it because I'm better at keeping up with my highlights? {Which are blonde and clearly easier to hide the grey's.} I'm trying to look at the bright side here though... it's nice grey hair. Like the pretty and shiny grey hair that you see on some lucky old ladies {like myself, apparently.} So? It could be worse.

2. Tax season is upon us and come January 31st, Bob and I will file our tax return again. Every year, we put our refund back into the house. First it was towards our new kitchen. Then our new windows. Then our new bathroom. You get the picture. This year we were trying to decide what to do with our refund and I think we finally came to a decision. And? Bob is thrilled with it. {So am I, actually}

We're getting a new TV. And a new sectional couch and new paint and molding for our family room. And remodeling our fireplace {which seriously needs to be updated with a new mantle, new gas fire logs, etc.} Basically, we're redoing the area where we spend the majority of our time at home and I'm so excited about it!

So stay tuned for yet another renovation project on the blog. ;)

3. For some reason? Brynn has given up on sleeping. She's always been an awesome sleeper, but lately she's been waking up in the middle of the night crying. I don't know if she's having nightmares? Or maybe it's her teeth? She's drooling and chewing on stuff like crazy, so that may just be it. But? Mama's tired. Usually her crying wakes Carter up too and then at 3am we have 2 toddlers in our bed. Both awake and ready to party. Awesome.

I hope things get back to normal again soon!

4. Carter is huge. We know this. He started off huge {ahem, 9.5lbs born 2 full weeks early} and never looked back. Usually he goes up a clothing size right around his birthday in July, which works out perfectly. So this past July, I bought him all new size 4T clothing and that was that. I thought we'd be good for awhile.

Wrongo. My boy just shot up to a 5T. He's 3. I can't believe it.

So, yeah. Over Christmas break, I had to go get him all new winter clothes in a 5T. I just can't believe how big he is {though I don't know why I'm so surprised by this.} But I am, okay? Because my little baby is getting SO BIG.

5. Can we talk tantrums for a second? {Like, literally a second, because I have an entire post planned about how 3-year-olds are the devil.} I feel like such a Mom-loser when my kid throws a tantrum in a public place and I really have no idea how to react to it. {It doesn't happen often, but I'm thinking of one time in particular that involved yellow school buses.} I think most of the time we, as parents, just make shit up as we go along. I took him out to the car, but really? I have no clue what I'm doing.

Mom of the year, I tell ya.

6. Have you SEEN how hot Ryan Gosling is in Crazy Stupid Love? Wait... how did that get in there?

7. Brynn is finally getting hair on the top of her head! WOOT! I've never seen anyone grow hair like she has. It started on the sides, then the back, now it's finally making it's way forward to the top of her hair. I literally can not wait for the day that I can put a clip in the front. Can NOT wait. Poor thing. Hopefully by her second birthday ;)

8. Sometimes? I put Tangled on even when the kids are sleeping. I just really love that movie. Especially the songs. Because really? Mother knows best.

9. :::crosses all crossables::: We've had a pretty mild winter so far. Usually we have at least 1 or 2 bad {BAD} snow storms by now, but lately? Nothing. Today it's 55. I really {really, really} hope that this continues. I loathe snow. It needs to stay away for good, thankyouverymuch.

10. If you've made it this far? You're a saint. Bless your sweet little heart. So, do either of you have questions for me? ;)

No really, it's been a long time since I've done a questions post, so if there's anything that you're dying to know about me... ask away! Email me, comment on this post... whatever you want to do and I'll try and answer them later this week!

I missed you guys and I hope you're all doing well =) MUAH!

RE: #2 - we always put our tax money back into our house as well, but I want to do something fun with it this year... we are heading to Ft. Lauderdale in two weeks, so vacation is out... any suggestions?

#4. Michael is a couple weeks younger than Carter and also in a 5T (for the last few months!) Yay for big healthy boys :)

#9. I HATE snow. Seriously. I'm also hoping for a continued mild winter.

My little Maddie has given up on sleep too (almost the same age as your Brynn, she's a May 30th baby!) It seemed like every night for the past 3 weeks she was waking at 4 to party - and then of course she woke her big sister up and we were all up for the day at 4:30 - fun times. However, two days ago I got in her mouth and saw that 3 of her eye teeth broke through! The past 3 nights she's been back to her great sleeping habits ((fingers crossed it keeps up that way!))) so hang in there! I bet it's teeth! I love your blog by the way - you ROCK!
:-)

thanks for the post Jenni, we been missing you!
Glad to hear I am not alone at night! My little guy has been getting up at 12:30 every night for the past 2 weeks! I ended up taking him to the doctor to rule out anything medical (ear infection?) but nothing! I am at a loss of what to do. coffee is my bff!

Glad to hear you're still alive ;) Don't worry about those grey hairs-- you're gorgeous and they can be fixed!

Tangled is one of my favorite kids movies too! And now I may be putting it on while I study during Alea's nap ;)

Can't wait to see your living room remodel! HOW EXCITING!

Glad to see a new blog post! The remodel sounds great - we are in the process of doing our living room and its such a great thing - i think it will make us feel even better when we spend so much time in there, and everything looks nice and pretty -- can't wait to hear and see everything you plan to do! yay for tax returns!!

The remodel sounds awesome, can't wait to see pics. Maggie's hair has grown in the same way. We're hoping for some real hair by the time she's two, too! I HATE the snow too, and since we live near each other, I am also REALLY hoping for a super mild winter. That would be the best!!!

glad to see you back. I've missed reading what is going on with y'all.

As far as the tantrum thing goes, I sort of pretend like he's doing nothing. It's embarrassing but not giving him attention helps in our case.

Questions: Tell me about your weight maintanence. How's it going? and, are y'all back on the TTC wagon?

Oh may gosh Jenn, my daughter grows hair EXACTLY like Brynn. My daughter was born on July 1st 2010, so they are the same age. I always look to Brynn as comfort because at least another baby is rocking the mullet like her! (And I mean that in the cutest mullet ever type of way!) I am dying for the hair clips too!! I will cross my fingers that both of our girls will have clips by their second birthdays :)

My little Henry, who is 2.5 is in
5T shirts!! I couldn't believe it!! And I hear you about the tantrums... Henry loves to have them in public and I panic and walk out with him. In all reality, no one wants to listen to your kid screaming :-/ And I'm embarassed.

My daughter born May 2010 is also rocking the mullet. It's adorable but I have all these cute bows and clips just waiting...patiently.
Just.waiting.so.patiently.

So Tangled eh? Apparently we need to watch this. Sometimes we find our daughter has left the room and my husband and I are still watching Fresh Beat Band. Entranced. Sad.

It's only been 7 days since your last post... you're entitled to mommy/wife/daughter/sister/aunt or whatever it is that you need to do time! we missed you, but we understand.

Did you know you are almost at 1,000followers on GFC?? that's borderline celebrity- what are you going to do to celebrate, if you even decide to celebrate?

Okay that was all I could think of right now- if I have a real question I'll just email it to save myself from further embarassment.

The other day (more like months ago) my hubby and I were getting ready together in the bathroom when he pointed out a grey hair on my head. And then another one. And another one. So I'm right there with you!! BOOOO!! And I totally wish we could use our tax refund on something fun this year, but alas, it will all go back to the government when I pay my business taxes. Another big BOOOOO!!!

I talked the kids into watching Tangled instead of Nemo over the weekend and I haven't taken it out of the DVD player since. Evan is calling it the horsie movie and I am THRILLED. I will watch it as many times as he wants.

Are you going to blogher12?
Have you ever considered being a blog mentor?
Do you use an RSS app to keep up with the blogs your reading?

I love Tangled too!
Embarrassed to say that I actually don't have any kids. Thought I'd let you know that they have a mini movie of the Tangled Wedding(which is hilarious) before Beauty & the Beast in 3D(which rocks as well).

Welcome back!! I have been reading your blog for about six months now and I LOVE IT!!!
I love Tangled!! I have 2 boys and love that my 4 year old loves it too!! The music makes the movie!! I am really looking forward the Tangled 2!!!
I, too, was wondering about your weight loss. Are you still eating the meals? Have you maintained the loss?
Thanks!!

I just started reading your blog and love it - don't stop! But I hear ya, I have been a blog slacker too lately, mostly because with 2 little ones, the precious free time I have gets filled with other things. But I love to write and it keeps me grounded, so I need to make the time. I agree about Tangled - love that movie :)
