O' Christmas Tree!

On Saturday, we headed out to Linvilla Orchards to chop down our Christmas tree. I love everything about Linvilla, from it's adorable shop, delicious homemade goods, and amazing wreaths and decorations, to its hayrides, marshmallows roasting over a warm cozy fire and its apple cider. It just feels like Christmas to me. And Saturday? Was the perfect day to go! It was cool and brisk, but not all-out freezing. It was a gorgeous day to find this years Christmas tree!

Carter was on the hunt early...
...but then quickly gave up and started playing hide-n-seek with Aunt Kacy in the trees.

After searching high and low {with everyone pointing out the same exact tree at different times throughout our search} we finally found it!

Brynn and Carter were so excited to help!

And there it goes...
So, just following along with tradition, our tree was a little too big {of course!} We chopped off the bottom a little at a time until it was the perfect height!

Waiting for the tractor to pick up our tree.

While we waited... Poppy decided to pull Carter down the hill on the plastic they gave us to cut down the tree. He loved it!

Then it was Carter's turn to pull Poppy =)

Carter got so excited for Brynnie's turn!

But Brynn? Well she didn't like it as much ;)

It was such a beautiful day that we decided to walk back to the market instead of taking the hayride. I love this shot with all the newly planted trees against the gorgeous blue sky...

Carter wanted to stop and feed the goats...

"I'm going to beat you Mommy!" {He did.}

Cows and pigs!

My parents gorgeous tree! {My mom stood guard so no one else would take it while we were out hunting for our tree ;}
And Brynn just LOVED the Apple Cider donuts! =)
After stopping off to get some lunch, we immediately headed home to start decorating!

Our star...
Lights!Brynnie's "helping"Carter wanted to help me put the ornaments on the tree. But somehow? All the ornaments ended up in one spot {arms reach from Carter's comfy spot on the sofa!}So after some ornament rearranging, here's the final result. As Carter would say "Look at our Christmas tree! It's BEAUTIFUL!"

And some night shots. Is there anything better than sitting in a dark room with only the soft glow of Christmas lights and the sound of Christmas music playing in the background? I think not.

Oh, and in case you were wondering...
Yes, that's 19 days, 11 hours, 31 minutes and 8 seconds until Christmas ;)

Gorgeous!! I hate turning any lights on during December. I love the glow from the trees and garland and decorations throughout the house. 'Tis the most wonderful time of the year!

Such a fun series of pics. You make me want to hurry and move so we can get our tree. A great tradition for the holiday!

Love it! Your tree looks fabulous! I have to say, I'm kinda bummed you didn't have a crazy adventure with fitting the tree in the house this year :-)

We live right around the corner from Linvilla and went the yesterday with 12 family members to get three trees. My poor husband spent two hours searching for the "perfect tree." the tractor picked it up and tagged it, but when we went to the pickup area they had lost our tree :( they did let us have our pick of the already cut trees, but still not the same!
By the way I have been following you since The Bump, and it was your recommendation to use Steph for our newborn photos. We have had 4 sessions with her since our son was born last June and she will be shooting my brother in laws wedding in April :)

Awesome pics...your Dad is in heaven with your babies...I'm sure he spoils them constantly. (He looks great too by the way). I'm jealous of the real tree...we have a fake one...and while it's nice and quick to put up, there's nothing like the smell of a fresh tree. Off to find some yankee candles!
