Little Hands Big Hearts

Well, my mom has done it again. She is just so amazing, that I can hardly put it into words.

But I'll try.

Yesterday, my wonderful mother held her 3rd annual Little Hands Big Hearts food drive to help local families in need. My mom, along with family, friends and my BIL's fire company, all get together and bring donations to help do what we can for the cause. This year, we had 130 complete dinner boxes donated through my mom's food drive, with several other boxes of miscellaneous food items.

One hundred and thirty.

That's 130 families that will have a dinner this Christmas.
130 families that can share a meal and spend time together.
130 families that I hope will feel a little less stressed this holiday season.

And it's all because of you mom.

Your kindness is contagious and you always bring out the best in everyone around you. I'm so lucky to have you in my life, and even luckier to be able to call you my mother. You make me so proud and I love you more then you could possibly imagine.

{*a complete dinner box includes a 14-16lb frozen turkey or ham, stuffing, mac-n-cheese, a canned fruit & veggie, pie crust and filling, cranberry sauce, instant mashed potatoes, gravy, olives, and pickles.}

Below are a few pictures that I took yesterday. The kids just LOVE to decorate the boxes, in hopes that it will bring a little cheer to those families that will receive them. And I'm sure it does...
Santa & Frosty, who were nice enough to help us keep count of the donations!After everything was said and done, and everyone had left, my mom put on a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup {yum!}, we threw on some Christmas music and put up my parents gorgeous tree! It's so pretty that it looks fake {I assure you, it's not :)}
And one shot of Carter & Brynn who stayed to help GG and Poppy with their tree...And a good shot of Carter's PJ's that say "Dear Santa, Define GOOD." Perfect for him...
Oh, and we got almost ALL of our shopping done on Friday!! WOOO HOOO! We caught some great sales and it wasn't as packed as it is on the weekends. Though we could barely push our way through Toys R Us with a shopping cart, we we're second in the checkout line and actually got a parking spot right away, so hey, it was better than last year, right? =)

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
