Crib Transition: Take II

I'm happy to report that Brynn has been in her crib for exactly 1 week now and is doing AMAZING. Maybe she just wasn't ready when we tried before? Well whatever has happened since that fateful night a few weeks ago, it's working. She's sleeping like a baby. ;)

Because we had 5 days off in a row, we thought it was the perfect time to try the crib tranistion again. Night #1 {last Tuesday} was awful. AWFUL, I tell ya. I think she woke up about 47 times {okay, maybe 8?} but the point is... it was too many. And we were exhausted. But we pressed on. I refused to put her back in the Rock-N-Play.

On early Wednesday morning, we had to take both kiddos to the doctors {Brynn for her 6 month shots/well visit and Carter for his Flu shot.} The lack of sleep combined with the after affects of the shots {and the fact that Brynn refused to nap} made for a very long day. But still... we pressed on.

Night #2 {Wednesday} was a dream. Brynn slept from 9pm-7am. In her crib. By herself. All night long. It made for a very pleasant Thanksgiving Day! {And boy were we thankful!}

Nights #3-4 she only woke up 1 time.

And nights #5-7 we've had to wake HER up in the morning. =)

So way to go Brynnie girl! And mama and "dadada" thank you, Sweet Pea.

And, cause every post needs a picture, these two are from Thanksgiving Day... Can you see her hair coming in??? {No? Is it just me?}
And this is what I like to call "When Carter Attacks"... he can't leave her alone for a second!
{Ahem, aren't those the cutest little Ugg boots you ever did see?}

Happy December everyone! {Can you believe it!?!}

That's so wonderful, Jenni. I'm so glad Brynn is doing so well. It makes for a happier family :)

Brigs is having trouble again in the STTN dept. He's just not a consistent sleeper I guess. He woke up at 3 a.m. last night and wouldn't go back to sleep. And we have the added worry of them sleeping in the same room. So when one starts crying/wakes up the other usually does too. SUCKS BIG TIME. They soooo need separate rooms :( We're freaking tired.

So your post kinda made me cry. I think I am just emotional today. My baby still sleeps with us and wakes up a minimum of 4 times a night. He is 9 1/2 months old. Today he cried for an hour 1/2 before he finally fell asleep for his nap. I am tired. I have been tired for 9 months. What did you do the 1st night? did you do the whole go in every 5 minutes? did you pick her up? rock her? nurse her? let her cry? I feel like I have tried everything. UGH!! That is so awesome you got your little one to sleep in her crib. I am certainly jealous and need everyone's secrets.

@ Molly- I'm sorry! I hate nights like those. Although Brynn has been doing fairly well STTN, there are still those nights that she'll wake up at 4 and by the time we get her back to sleep, it's time to get ready for work. I keep telling myself "it doesn't last forever." I helps. A little.

@ Jackson's Momma- Aw, hun! I'm sorry that he is having trouble sleeping. That makes for very rough nights (and days!)

We went in every 5 minutes (prob more like 2-3 mins b/c I can easily tell when she is unable to self-soothe b/c she's so upset) until she fell back asleep. Most of the time, we picked her up and rocked her and then laid her back down again in her crib.

By the 5th or 6th time, she was so exhausted, that the minute we picked her up to calm her down, she would fall asleep. Each time she woke up, it got easier.

If you want to transition him, my best advice is to be consistent. Don't give in (no matter how tired you are!) I wanted SO BAD to put her back in her RNP so I could sleep, but then the thought of starting over again made me want to throw up. So I stuck with it.

GL mama!
