November 11th

Such a special day for me. For us. Today marks our 8 year dating | 3 year wedding anniversary. That's right, we were married on our 5 year dating anniversary, something that I just love to tell people. November 11th is one of the best days of the year =)

How will we spend said anniversary, you may ask? Well, Bob and Carter are making me dinner tonight. I have no idea what they're cooking up, but I'm very excited about it! On Saturday, Bob and I are heading out for a date night. We'll be seeing a movie {Jim Carrey's new movie "A Christmas Carol"... typical me!} and then heading to our favorite restaurant in the entire world, The Franklinville Inn. I am so excited!

We usually do small gifts for our anniversary, and follow the traditional gift giving guide. The first year is paper, so Bob and I just got each other a card and went to Atlantic City overnight for dinner and Christmas shopping at the new outlets down there {how do I manage to tie Christmas into our anniversary every year?? ;)} The second year is cotton, and we happened to get each other the same exact gift last year. True story. This year is leather {honestly?} so we decided to skip gifts and just spend time with each other. There's nothing I could want more {except for an iPhone maybe. Kidding honey.}

Our Story.
On Friday, November 2, 2001, I met Bob at a party at his house. I went with one of my friends, Chris, who was best friends with Bob at the time. I remember the first time I saw Bob in his kitchen at the Buttonwood house. I thought he was so handsome. As the party went on, he and I really clicked and we spent the entire time together talking and laughing. I don't know why I thought he was so funny {Carter has the same problem now} but he really knew how to make me laugh. The following night, a bunch of people went to the movies and Bob invited me to go along. We saw "13 Ghosts" and I hate scary movies, but I was looking for an excuse to see Bob again, so I went anyway. Over the next week, we talked everyday and saw each other a few times. By the following weekend, November 11, 2001 to be exact, we decided to start dating officially. I knew right away that he was "the one" and I loved spending time with him. I actually think we saw each other every day for the first year {I know... gag me} but it was wonderful being with him.

Engaged.
On May 26, 2005, a week after my little sisters wedding {that Bob and I were both in} he proposed. Kacy {my sister} helped him pick out my beautiful ring and he ordered it about a month earlier. When they called Bob to tell him it was ready, he knew he had to propose THAT day so that he wouldn't some how give it away that he actually had the ring in his possession. He called out of work, picked up the ring, took it to my parents house to ask for their blessing, and then proposed that night. It was a random Thursday, and I stopped by his house after work. Needless to say I had no clue and must have asked "are you serious?" about a million times before Bob had to remind me that I still hadn't actually said "yes" :)

I do.
Which brings us to our wedding day, November 11, 2006. It was one of the best days of my life. They had called for rain all week, and I pretty much gave in to the old wives tale that "rain was lucky." Well, we woke up on the Saturday morning of our wedding to clear blue skies and 75 degree weather. In New Jersey. In November. It's almost unheard of.

The entire day went off without a hitch. I'm sure a few things went wrong, but I didn't care. I was getting married to the love of my life... the best man in the world...and that's all I cared about. I wanted to share some pictures of our beautiful day. All wedding photos below were taken by Laura Novak... one of the best photographers in the country {and I'm not just saying that... she really is one of the best in the country} These are low res images because the high res wouldn't upload to Blogger. Enjoy!

Pictures.

Honeymoon.
We headed to St. Lucia bright and early the very next morning. It was the best. vacation. ever.Bye St. Lucia... hopefully we'll be back.
Happy 8 year / 3 year Anniversary honey! We have so much to look forward too...
