Happy Halloween!

Here's a preview of what my chunky monkey will be wearing today. I figured, at the rate he's growing, I might want to put his costume on him to see if it still fits. Luckily, it did. Barely.

We tried it on before bath & feeding time last night. You can see how fast he gets tired of it :)

We're heading over to my mom's daycare now for the party and parade. We'll be there for dinner too since we have to wait for daddy to come back from the Phillies parade (he got great seats IN the park!) We may take Carter to a few of the neighbor's houses, but that's it. I'll post more pics later or tomorrow.
Happy Pumpkin Day everyone!

Pro Pictures

They're here!!! Sorry for the long post, but I can't choose just one or two to show you. I had to post every. single. one. Below are low-res pics from our mini-photo ssession on October 18th.

Erin- I seriously can not thank you enough. You're amazing.

Phinally.

No. Words. Necessary.

Purtty.

Every morning (after I struggle to get ready and then give Carter a million hugs and kisses before I leave the house) I drive into the city, fight through traffic, park the car, walk to my building, go up the elevator to the 3rd floor (I'm lazy at 7:30am), use my ID card to get into the office, walk down the hallway, turn the corner to get to my desk, and this is what I see everyday:

I <3 fall. With the beautiful garden outside my window, you would never know that this was the middle of Philly.

Jump, Jump, Jumperoo.

We finally put together Carter's Rainforest Jumperoo this weekend. One word: Love.

Concentrating hard!
Dad, did you see this thing?
Heeeey, where did that guy come from? Thanks mom and dad...

And these pictures below were just too cute not to post.

Carter looking through his first Toys R Us Big Book Catalogue. Are we in trouble already?

Ben and Carter :)

"Goodnight Car-der" (ignore Kacy's xmas pj pants ;)
Ben could hear Carter in the monitor, so he thought C could hear him too :)

"Car-der, u in 'der?""muuuuuuuah!"

Tonight's the night.

The atmosphere here in the city of Philadelphia is a little crazy today. Even walking into my building I saw nothing but a sea of red shirts and hats. Lots of smiles and high fives. You would never have known that it was 7:30 in the morning.

My boyfriend is pitching tonight. I have my Hamels shirt on and I'm ready to go. Work is having a Phillies pep rally at noon today (I work for the 4th biggest employer in Philly.) Everyone is so ready.

Carter's ready:
Ben's ready:
Even Kai is ready:
Are you ready? I wonder if they'll close our office on Wednesday for the parade? ;)

Y3W

I have been sick since Sunday, but last night it finally caught up to me. My initial cold/cough/disgustingness has officially turned into a full blown sinus infection. It's.... lovely. The sad part is that Carter Man has it too. My poor little guy is sneezing and coughing and having trouble breathing. He's still giving me tons of smiles though... what a champ. We're home snuggling together today. I can't think of anything else I'd rather do. :)

Therefore, in honor of our sick day, I bring you this weeks Your Three Words.

Edit: And, in honor of Kimi, my slippers are not "old lady" ;) Their UGG's and they are the best. things. ever.

The Power of Sports Center.

Picture this:

It's cold. You know what happens when it's cold in the morning and your alarm goes off. It's almost impossible to gather the motivation necessary to get out of your warm bed. I get up first every morning, trek down stairs to let Kai out and start making Carter's morning bottle. Cereal, formula, Zantac, microwave, shake. Repeat if necessary. I then let Kai in and give him his morning treats.

Then comes the hard part.

I go to Carter's crib to wake him up. He's warm and snuggly under his blanket. I pick him up. He's still snoring on my shoulder. I take Carter Man, the bottle, his blanket, and the diaper caddy upstairs so Daddy can feed him. Bob is still sleeping. Now I have 2 boys snoozing away. I lay Carter on my pillow so that he can wake up a little bit before eating. It doesn't work. He settles his head into my pillow and falls deeper into sleep. On my pillow. Under my blanket.

I reluctantly continue to get ready for work. I quickly remember that Bob woke me up at the end of the Phillies game to tell me that they won. We gave each other high-fives and then I, in my Nyquil trance, fell immediately back to sleep. I turned on the TV in our room and changed the channel from Fox to Sports Center so that I could watch the highlights of last nights game (that I missed after taking the Nyquil and passing out.) Meanwhile the boys are still sleeping as I get dressed. I turn around to get my pants from the end of the bed and this is what I see:

Ah, the power of Sports Center.
