Cold Weather Beauty

Thanks to Walgreens for underwriting this post. I was paid as a member of the Clever Girls Collective, but the content is all mine. Visit http://www.discoverbeautywithin.com/.

I think we can all agree that your beauty rituals vary slightly from season to season. In the summer, we're all worried about pretty feet & toes, bright summery colors, and that our armpits and legs are shaven everyday so we can wear appropriate clothing. But things are different in the winter. And today I just want to mention a few of my favorite cold weather beauty products.

First and foremost? I'm an Aveeno HOAR. I use Aveeno everything and swear by the stuff. I promise I don't work for them, I just really adore their products. And what's needed more in the winter than a really good lotion?

The only lotion I ever use is Aveeno with Cooling Action {formally known as "Cooling Menthol"} It is the greatest thing EVER. Because I played soccer my entire life, I developed extremely dry and sensitive skin on my shins {from years of wearing shin guards, I guess!} and I could not find anything that helped them. I went to 3 or 4 dermatologists and tried every cream and ointment out there before one of the doctors recommended Aveeno with Cooling Menthol. I really had nothing to lose at this point, so I tried it.

It cured me over night.

Since that time {about 10 years ago now, maybe?} I've never looked back and I tell everyone who ever brings up itchy dry skin or eczema to me. If you have this? Try it. It works.

So my love for Aveeno products has grown over the years and that's really all I use now. I love their face lotion {pictured above} foaming face wash, body wash, shaving cream and even their shampoo and conditioners are great!

My next favorite product is Essie nail polish in all their fun winter colors! I'm extremely anti-finger nail polish. I just HATE anything on my nails. I have really nice nails {if I do say so myself} and I just hate covering them up with polish. {And I'm too lazy to repaint them all the time when they chip.} So the only thing I really like to paint are my toe nails. Well this is my newest favorite color:

Wrapped in Rubies

It's a shimmery cross between a deep red and a deep purple. I'll spare you all a picture of my feet but trust me, it's gorgeous.

And last but certainly not least, this ThermalOn face mask has saved my life so far this winter. It's filled with tiny beads and you can heat the mask up in the microwave and it is heaven when you have a bad cold or sinus infection. Heaven.

Every time I wear it though, Carter and Brynn always come up and try to peek under my mask to make sure I'm okay. It may not be beautiful, but damn it saves lives. ;)

What are your favorite cold weather beauty products? I'd love to hear about them!!
