Bathroom Update

So the bathroom has been "done" for quite awhile now. And by "done" I mean that we have finished floors, painted walls/ceiling, a door, molding and a working shower/tub, sink, and toilet. What we don't have is a finished closet. Why? Because it takes Lowes 18 business days to make an 18in closet door. {How is that even possible?}

So yesterday, on what appeared to be our first day off {i.e. no work, no plans} in about 5 weekends, Bob headed to Lowes to pick up this super magical door that took them 18 business days to make. While there, he also bought the 4 shelves and the closet organizing system that we wanted to install as well.

And because nothing is ever easy in our house, Bob brought it home and none of the shelves actually fit into the closet. Good times.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "ya mean, those idiots didn't even measure before they bought the shelves!?" We did. I promise, we did. But the depth of the closet is only 12 inches, which is the exact depth of the wire shelves. The problem is the brackets {used to hold the shelves} change the depth by an inch. Again? Good times.

So there goes another weekend with all of my bathroom closet items scattered on drawers and in trash bags in poor little Brynn's room. We need to take everything back and figure out what the heck will fit into our tiny 12in x 24in closet.

I just want this bathroom to be DONE. With no quotations. And I refuse to show you what it looks like until it is.

Okay fine, one picture. {Tough crowd.}
How about a vote for the bathroom? =)

Awww, it will be done soon. Cannot WAIT to see the finished room.

Hell, I just wanna see somebody's finished room. Because NONE of the rooms in our house are done. Like, at all.

I hear you Jenni! I thought that was just us with that luck. We had to order a custom shower insert when we did ours because we were replacing ours that wasn't "standard" size! I love DIY projects but the cost they come with sometimes is the aggravation! I can't wait to see the rest...because I LOVE THAT faucet and from what I can see of the granite, it looks awesome!

I would make your own shelves...just cut a piece of plywood...sand it down and paint. You could even put contact paper or something on top. I'm not a huge fan of the wire shelves for linen closets. We have one...and well the darn small items (lotion, deodorant, body spray) just won't sit right, so things are always falling over and knocking things down. Maybe it's good luck that they didn't fit?

@ Amy- We have a ton of baskets for the little stuff... Plus I have 2 giant drawers in the vanity for my hair supplies/lotions, etc.

I was just going to get the wire shelves/system b/c it was easier. Pfft, yeah right.

They sell wood shelving as well, so we're going to head to Lowes (hopefully SOON) to see what they have!

Ugh, what a project!

Ooh pretty faucet! We use the big canvas boxes for all the little bath items in the closet.
