Bag Lady

I'm currently in diaper bag hell.

I have no idea what kind of bag I want or need for two babies. Granted, Carter doesn't really need much anymore... we pack him diapers, wipes, and an extra outfit and we're good. But newborn's require a lot more and therefore I want to make sure that I get a bag that can accommodate both kids.

I'll admit it though... I'm rather picky. I don't want the bag to be too big, too small, the wrong style, too girlie, etc. It must have side pockets, a zipper top, fit on a stroller.

I mean, come on... is that too much to ask? Where is this perfect bag?

Let's start with what I have for Carter. It's a Bumble Bag and I absolutely love it.

It's the perfect size, meets all of my requirements, and is simply adorable. If I could get away with it, I'd use it again for this baby, but it just won't accommodate both kids. Sigh.

So, after MUCH research, here's what I've narrowed it down too...

#1: Fleurville Sling Tote in Black Bouquet
Price: $119
Concern: It doesn't have side pockets on the outside.

#2: Fleurville Lexie Tote in Black Bouquet
Price: $129
Concern: May not be big enough.
#3: Fleurville Mothership in Black Bouquet {are you seeing a pattern?}
Price: $109
Concern: It has a flap that covers the zipper at the top
{I told you I was picky...}

#4: JuJuBe Be Prepared in Midnight Eclipse
Price: $180
Concerns: The price and the size {it may be too big}... I'm also not totally in love with the pattern {I like the "Black Bouquet" pattern much better, but it's not an option.}
#5: BabyMel Amanda Bag in Blossom Grey
Price: $88
Concern: I've never heard of this brand {have you?}

Help.

Can't I just combine all these bags into the most practical, beautiful, perfect diaper bag ever?!?!

Poll's on the side. And comments are greatly appreciated, especially if you have recommendations... {although that may just add to the confusion.}

Hey Jenni,
Did you ever consider the Vera Bradley baby bag? It has side pockets and I love how both girls' sippy cups fit right on in... it zippers and I don't think it's too big! Just a thought :)

The Black Bouquet bags are so cute!I don't think the poll is working? I voted for bag #2 but it shows 100% of the votes are for #5? My vote is for #2. I'm going over to the Fleurville site right now to see what else they have : ) Can't wait to see what you decide!

I take that back...the poll is working just fine : )

The last one is absolutely my fave. I've never heard of the brand, but I love the print and the look of the bag.

And BTW, what the heck are you packing for a newborn? All I have for Isaac are a couple diapers, wipes, a burp cloth, a change of clothes, and a lightweight blanket...am I missing something here??

Thanks for voting, girls!

@ Kristal- I DON'T KNOW!!! I remember Carter's bag always being filled to the brim with bottles, bibs, extra clothes, socks, onsies, diapers, wipes, creams, lotions... you name it, lol.

Maybe I'm an overpacker? ;)

I've heard of BabyMel...it's one of the few brands sold at the expensive, fancy, awesome baby boutique I go to frequently. I've never used one, but based on the good stuff they carry, I would guess that this is a good brand!

@ Amy- I love the Skip Hop Studio, but my husband thinks it looks too much like a purse and doesn't really want to carry it around. Boo.

I have several Vera Bradley's and love them. I actually have a large tote I use for the beach and Carter's overnight trips =)

@ Alanna- Thanks! And I've found a few reviews online that seem positive! I might try it out =)

As a Ju Ju Be fanatic, the Be Prepared is probably a bit too big for your needs. It's good for, say, over nighters & such. HOWEVER, that being said :) JJB has hands down, the best diaper bags I've ever used. My DS is about Carter's age & I'm due in June with a girl. I plan on getting their new Be Fabulous-but it's spend since it's leather. One really cool thing about JJB's is that they are machine washable. Major plus, IMO. Anyway, you should check out their forum (the Pink Room) for pictures of all their bags packed & such. :)

Those are all super cute choices. I thought I would need a bigger bag once Lillian arrived, but I never got around to getting one. I ended up using my old bag and it fits everything we need for both kids. Brock doesn't require much when we're out. A few diapers, a sippy cup, and an extra outfit. His things barely take up any room. Have you tried to pack your diaper bag and pretend you had Brynn here? You'd be surprised how much you can fit. Especially now that Carter doesn't need that much!

i just blogged about my diaper bag dilemma the other day - our options are so much ore liited here in Canada...unless you're will to pay over $200 for a diaper bag.

IMO - I'd say the Lexie Tote. Maybe Petunia Picklebottom?

I just got a skip hop bag a couple of months ago and love it. http://www.skiphop.com/product/21500.html Before that I had a petunia picklebottom(too small IMO) and one from pottery barn kids that didn't have enough pockets for me. I think the one I have may be too small for things for 2 kiddos, but maybe the city chic collection from them would work for you? Good luck! Of the ones you have listed, #2 is my favorite!

Design your own! There are tons of ladies on Etsy that can custom a bag for you for WAY less than the bags you posted. GL I was in DB hell for quite a while.

Plus picking your own fabric is half the fun!
