Weekend Recap: Birthday Edition

Caution: Lots of pictures ahead.

On Friday night, I had a girl's night out with 2 good friends and my sister, Kristi. We always have the best time when we're together and could sit and talk for hours... we always lose track of time. Friday night, we headed to Riverview Deck for dinner and drinks. It was such a beautiful night!

Sunset on the water...

Christine and DeannaKristi and IThe 4 of us...

On Saturday, we headed down the shore to Storybook Land for a 1st birthday party. It was such a cute park... very clean and it wasn't too crowded. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time!

Carter on his very first ride... the elephants! He loved it!
My nephew, Ben, and the boys on the monster trucks... Carter waiting for the boys to get off the ride! He has this thing now where he'll point to what he wants...Guess he wanted the camera...
Bob, Grace, and Carter waiting for the train! Poor Grace... do you see what she has to put up with?? She's a tough cookie though!
On the train around the park... I think Carter could of stayed on this thing alllll day.
BEN!
Ben and Adrianna... too cute!Okay, so Ben- who just turned TWO- wanted to go on the not-so-little roller coaster. The entire time he would say "Aunt Jenni {Mom, Uncle Bob, GG}, I want to go on the ROLLER COASTER!!" We're like "Ben, that's for bigger kids." Well he did not give up, so... after talking it over with Kristi, I decided to take him on. Now I fully expected to wait in line and then, when it was our turn to board, he would refuse to get in and that would be that. Boy was I wrong. He was soooo excited! He actually didn't hold on to the handle bar and had his hands over his head the entire time!!!! He did awesome! When we were done, he looked at me and said "Aunt Jenni, we were saying WOAHHHHHHH, WOAHHHHHH" It was the cutest thing ever. He absolutely loved it.
We then headed over to the Olde Time Cars.... Carter's driving already! When we got home from the park, we headed out to dinner for my birthday. I had no idea where we were going or who was coming... turns out, my sister had made plans for 10 of us to go to Riverview Deck {where I was the night before!} I didn't care though... I LOVE it there.
Reenie, Kristi, and KacyOn the water...
Sunday, my actual birthday, I wanted to do something low-key. My mom, the amazing cook that she is, makes everyone their favorite meal for their birthday. I decided that I would fore go my usual "homemade spaghetti sauce and cheese ravioli dinner" for a summer BBQ and a pool day! It was so fun and relaxing and our meal {filet mignon, grilled chicken, salad, corn on the cob, twice baked potatoes, birthday cake, and ice cream} was fabulous! Great, now I'm starving.
Carter in the pool.
Okay, so this is the fourth time he has been in the tube and it's the fourth time he has FALLEN ASLEEP in this tube. I seriously need to write to this tube company and find out what their secret is.After nap time in the pool, we headed back inside for a snack. But, as I was getting Carter's snack ready, he started stealing Grace's puffs. But not from her tray.... from the floor!

And here comes Ben to help. I love how Grace is just smiling away =)
Thanks everyone for my fabulous birthday weekend!!

Glad you had a fun birthday! For some reason water is very relaxing to kids. Landon gets sleepy while swimming too!
