My favorite gift

Now, my favorite gift was not one that I received this Christmas, but one that I gave. I put a lot of thought into exactly what I wanted to give my 2 sisters and mom this year for Christmas. Honestly, I put a lot of thought into all of my gifts, carefully selecting something that I know {or think} the other person will love... but, this year I think I struck gold with the girls in my family. Once I thought of this gift I could barely keep it to myself. I almost slipped several times {it's very hard for me to keep something exciting to myself for more than a minute.} I kept this secret for a whole month!

Great... I've already built my gift up so much in the first paragraph, that you guys will likely be disappointed.

Wellll- I thought the best gift would be a day with each other {who wouldn't want to spend an entire day with me? Everyone. I know.} I booked a wine tour and tasting at Chadds Ford Winery, a trip to Longwood Gardens to see their beautiful Christmas display, and then dinner and drinks at PF Changs. I made a certificate for them to open and put the tickets and gift cards inside the big red envelope as well. It was so great to see their faces as they opened the gift. My mom even cried {although she cries at Phillies games when they play God Bless America} but still... I'll take it.

Our trip was Sunday, December 28th and it was such a wonderful day. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to do it again {especially the winery... let me tell ya. Philly girls, I highly recommend it.}

The certificate I made...
{Winery}
Here we come...
Pretty.
The first glass...
Kiss kiss...
My sisters and I...
More please...Kacy and I...Kristi and I...The tasting menu...On the tour... Thank gawd we could bring our glass of wine with us ;)I love this sign...Kacy with her purchases...The girls...{Longwood Gardens}
Next, we headed 2 miles down the road to Longwood Gardens. First, We visited the old du Pont house that is located on the grounds {and actually the reason the Gardens exist... the house and property were donated.} It was gorgeous. I love old houses {and history} and this was no exception.
The front porch...
Drinking some hot chocolate {in 65 degree weather} before heading inside...

The glass ceiling that connects the 2 portions of this amazing house.
How beautiful is this main staircase?? There were a total of 4 staircases {that I saw} in the house.

And the creepy staircase that led down to the basement. Awesome.

We then walked over to the conservatory {I feel like I'm playing Clue} to see the beautiful landscaping.
And outside...
This is when my camera battery dies. Lovely. So I busted out the Flip and taped a small portion of the fountain show.

My purchases. Yum.
What a wonderful day :)
