Well, that didn't take long.

Carter is two and a half weeks old and already has his very first cold. Poor guy. Honestly, I think it's allergies. We were at my mother-in-law's house the other night and my eyes started itching like crazy from the 2 cats that they have. They're house is super clean, but cat hair hides well, even in the cleanest environments.

Anyway, I had to clean my eyes out and use about 100 eye drops in the 3 hours that we were there. When we got home that night, we gave Carter a bath and off to bed he went. Well, he woke up at 3am to eat and his eyes were swollen shut! Since then, it's only gotten worse (mucasy, watery eyes and some congestion.) I felt so bad for him that I started crying on Sunday while I waited for the on-call doctor to call me back. I felt so helpless.

I'm such a new mom.

I took him in to be seen first thing Monday morning and the doc said that it's either a cold or a blocked tear duct. She prescribed eye drops and also told me to pick up saline drops to help break up some of the congestion and to clear his little nose. Since yesterday, he's gotten so much better!

Looks like he's going to have his mom's allergy problems. Poor kid.

He's still cute though....
