Hmmm.

So, apparently Carter will be on the "healthier" side. Oh, why be nice about it... I'm having a fat kid :)

The growth u/s at 35 weeks showed that baby boy was only measuring a week ahead, and not 2.5 weeks like they originally thought. It was so great to see him on the screen... but he just looks so squished and uncomfortable in there. He has the chubbiest cheeks ever and, of course, Bob thinks he looks exactly like him. Because you can tell that stuff from a black and white 2D ultrasound. But you're right honey, he looks JUST like you. ;)

So, back to the "fat kid" part. He weighed between 6.5-7lbs at the u/s. With 5 weeks to go (at the time) that made me a little nervous. Babies gain about a pound a week starting at 36 weeks. Do the math- that's a 10.5-11lb baby boy.

The only word I can think to say: ouch.

I had my 36 week appointment yesterday and the doctor did not seemed concerned with his weight. At all. Um, okay. I guess we'll just wait and see.

On another note, I'm 1 cm dilated and 80% effaced right now. I know I can stay like that for the next 3-4 weeks, but it's nice to know that I'm at least making some progress.

Now that it's July and I'm full term next week, all bets are off. You may find me walking to work in Philly just to get Carter out. Don't think I'm kidding.
