Except Ben decided that, instead of Aunt Jenni reading to him, he was going to read to me and Carter.

Bedtime story.
Bob and I had Ben overnight on Friday while my sister and her husband went to a wedding. After hours of running around and playing, it was nice to take a break in the glider and read a story.
Except Ben decided that, instead of Aunt Jenni reading to him, he was going to read to me and Carter.
I still have no idea what Ben was saying, but it seemed like Carter sure did. He was wiggling around the whole time :)

Going to the chapel...
After 6 years of dating, Brenda, my mother-in-law, finally married the man of her dreams, Michael, who we all absolutely adore. I am so truely happy for them both. Here are a few pictures from their June 21st wedding...

Interesting.
I had my 34 week appt yesterday. My weight looked good (only up a pound since my last appt!) but my blood pressure was kinda high. Especially for me. So I go in the room with the doctor and she proceeds to tell me that there were high levels of glucose in my urine and that she's not sure how I passed my 3-hour GD test. Lovely. She's sending me for bloodwork next week.
We continue the appt with listening for the baby on the doppler. His heart beat sounded great and he kicked the doppler twice. He doesn't like to be bothered with it I guess :) The doc then measures my belly to see how big baby boy is. After she measures it she just says "Hmm." I'm like "what does that mean?"
Wait for it. Wait for it.
Baby boy is measuring 2.5 weeks ahead.
After talking with the doc, she's very concerned b/c Carter is consistently measuring more ahead with every appt. Not only that, but with my glucose levels and high blood pressure, she wants to make sure that everything is okay. She seems to think that we've been using the wrong EDD this entire time. I've been saying that since my first appt.
Anyway, I have a growth ultrasound scheduled for next Friday along with bloodwork. We'll really get to see just now big baby boy really is :) The doc wants to wait for the results before any final decisions are made, but she started talking c-section. We shall see.

Yes, that's what we call my nephew, Ben. I spent the day with him on Sunday... he is the coolest kid ever. Here are a few pics of him enjoying my parents pool!

My Bump
When my friend Courtney e-mailed me looking for "models" to help build her photography portfolio, I got really nervous. Do I really want maternity pictures? Would I be a good model? Would someone really want to see pictures of me on her website? That can only be bad for business.
After talking it over with Bob, we decided that it would be wonderful to capture this special time in our lives. I searched the internet high and low for inspiration and picture ideas. A lot of the pics that I found were not my style. At all. I told Court right away that I wanted them to be light and funny. I'm not into the nekkid pictures, if you know what I mean. She happily agreed.
So, on Sunday, June 8th, Court came over to our house to take a few belly shots. She recently e-mailed me a few low-resolution proofs and I think she did an amazing job. Enjoy.

A little story...
When I was around 2 years old, my parents thought it was about time for me to learn to use the"big girl potty." Well, appartenly I had different plans. I refused. Come on, peeing in your diaper is much easier, people. My poor parents tried almost everything for months and months and nothing would work. I would not go on the potty.
My mom then had the bright idea to take me to Toys R' Us and let me pick out whatever toy I wanted from the store. After an hour, I finally made my selection. It was perfect. But they didn't buy it. Instead, my parents promised to bring me back to the store to pick it up as soon as I learned how to pee on the "big girl potty." But I couldn't bring that toy home with me until then. Bastards.
It took me a week.
About a month or 2 ago, my dad was up in the storage loft above their garage and there it was, in all it's glory... my toy. My beautiful toy. My parents saved it. My dad decided that he would bring it down from the loft and fix it up for baby boy. After all, it was a 26 year old toy and if it worked for me, it could work for anyone. He took the time to repaint everything and detail it. He then gave it to me on Saturday. It was the first time I had seen it in.... well, I can't even remember.

Yep.... that's what I picked. Out of the whole store, I peed for a Toys R' Us tractor trailor truck. My dad did such a wonderful job fixing it and repainting everything. It actually looks better then it did when we first got it. I mean, it has rims now, come on.... that's cool.
