Y3W | A little housekeeping...

This time tomorrow, we'll be in Disney World, so there are a few things I'd like to discuss before we head out for a week...

1. I am not bringing my MacBook. {Ya know, the one that's attached to my hip? Yeah... that one.} This is a vacay away from everything. {Fine, we'll have the iPad to watch the Phillies games... so sue us.}

2. I will have my {very old school} iPhone with me {oh puh-lease release the new iPhone pronto, Mr. Apple} so be sure to follow me on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram!

3. I have asked 3 of my very good friends to guest blog for me while I'm away. I have also scheduled 2 posts that I wrote, so be sure to stop back next week for some great entertainment =)

4. I had 3 amazing giveaways end last night. The winners are:
Thank you to all those who entered! The winners can email me and I'll get you all set up to receive your prize!

5. The kids are all packed up. Us? Not so much. I have a "to do" list that is a mile long. I'm at work today, since it's been insanely busy, so I have to be sure to get everything done after we drop off the kids tonight. It's going to be a long night with very little sleep {meh, we can sleep on the plane} but it will all be worth it when we arrive in Disney World by 9:15am right? RIGHT!?!

6. Does anyone have any wonderful Disney tips for us? We downloaded the "Disney Wait Times" app for our phones. Any other fun apps? Tips? Anything we need to know?

7. We made our dinner reservations back in March or April {'Ohana, Le Cellier, Raglan Road Irish Pub, Teppan Edo & Margaritaville in Universal} but do you have any quick-service places that we should try??

8. Tip of the Day: If you are going to Disney World and won't be renting a car {like us} I found a shuttle {thanks to a few emails from readers!} that seriously just calmed my nerves a bit {oh, and saved us a small fortune!} It's the Mears Shuttle and it picks you up right in front of your hotel {yes, even if you're staying in the park} and takes you to Universal Studios. It runs every hour and was only $38 round trip total for both of us. WOOT!

9. Any "OMG you can't miss this" rides? We're going to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios & Universal. {I've never been a fan of Animal Kingdom, so we're skipping it.}

10. I'm doing a little better since my post yesterday. I honestly just want to get the good-bye's over with. It's not that I just want to dump my kids and go, by any stretch of the imagination... it's that I've been dreading this moment for so long, that I just want to get the sadness out of the way already. It's like delaying the inevitable. These next 24 hours will be hard, but I'm hoping I can get past that once we're on the plane.

Whew. That was a lot. Thank you for everything guys... you're seriously the best!

Catch ya on the flip side ;)

  1. Have I told you how jealous I am that you're going to Disney? If not, I really am! Have a great time and I can't wait to hear (read?) all about it.

  2. Jenni, please enjoy yourselves! I know it's hard to leave the kiddos but you and Bob will be so glad you did. Remember how we were talking about reconnecting? It is so hard with a full-time job and two kiddos. This is your chance! Live it up!

Also - there is a ride in Epcot, can't remember the name, but it simulates riding on a wing-glider. It is awesome. We all rode it twice!

The other one I love is the Tower of Terror. Oh my gosh, SO FUN!

  5. I don't know the details, but are you aware of the option that you can pay something extra and you don't have to wait in the lines? I think I read about it on TipJunkie and I believe the program is called Fast Pass. Might be worth it. Have a blast and bring me back some ears;)

  7. Yes, Soarin' is amazing!

The Wine & Food festival is a must. It is my favorite event ever, and I'm sad I am missing it for our trip this fall. :(

If you don't care about seeing the parade in Magic Kingdom, that is a GREAT time to go on attractions!

Toy Story Mania in DHS is supposed to be awesome, that is one attraction I am most looking forward to in November.

Quick service places - I like Cosmic Rays and Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom and Sunshine Seasons Food Court in Epcot (seriously, it's fantastic).

Hm, that's all I can think of. You are going to have a blast!!

  8. Tomorrow is the Magic Kingdom's 40th Anniversary, there is supposed to be a new parade and added fireworks, but I hear it's supposed to be pretty busy at that park! (But we still may go, no big crowds are going to keep us out!)

MK rides: All of the Mountains (Space, Thunder, Splash), Love the People Mover...wait it's called Tommorrowland Transit now-gives you a nice break and you can view the park from above

    EPCOT rides: Soarin'
    Food and Wine = YUM!

Studios: Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster, Toy Story Mania

Hubs and I always go to Colombia Harbour House at MK. The food is your typical quick service chicken, burgers, etc, but if you go up to the 2nd floor, they have a cute bridge area where you can sit and look out the windows and people watch.

Have fun!!!!!! Can't wait to see pictures!

  9. If you have the option & the cash, purchase tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. So fun.

Also, the food & wine festival at Epcot. Do it. Again, an extra ticket aside from the park pass.

Rides - Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios. If you can get a Fast Pass, great, if not, the line is just as fun. It is like you are a toy in Andy's Room.

Fast Passes do not cost extra if you are staying on property.

Obviously, Soarin' at Epcot. At Magic Kingdom, the line for Haunted Mansion is now interactive. Also, I am sure that line is really decked out for the Halloween season.

Fireworks! Magic Kingdom & Epcot every night! Both are great shows!

Did you make all your dining reservations?

I could go on & on...

    Have a great trip!!!

  12. Get a fast pass early in the AM for Toy Story Mania...they run out quickly! (or at least did back in May)

Cosmic Ray's in MK is yummo! You can get a ribs and chicken combo dinner with your quick service plan and it's delicious.
