If only for a week.

If only for a week, I knew about you. You were mine.

My baby.

From the moment I saw "pregnant" on that little test early one Monday morning, my life forever changed.

My third baby was coming.

If only for a week, I had the promise of something special. Someone special.

I pictured what you would look like. What our life would look like as a family of 5. It was beautiful.

You were beautiful.

It may have only been a week that I knew you were coming, but it only took a second for me to fall in love.

I told your brother and sister about you. They were happy. Excited. Just as we were. Your brother even said "Can it be a baby girl like Brynnie?? Because she's my best friend!" {Then I smiled and cried, of course.}

It may have only been a week, but we knew that you were going to bring such joy to our lives come June.

Then, nearly as fast as it came, it ended.

And now you're gone.

I feel like someone is stabbing me in the heart every time I think of you. What you would have become.

Who you would have become.

I write this post to let you know that you are so loved. And missed. Not a day goes by that I wish this nightmare would end. That you were still there, growing safely in my belly.

Although I know that I have so much to be thankful for, sometimes it's hard to see that through my tear-filled eyes. While the wound is so fresh. But we will move on. We will be strong again.

I will be strong again.

If only for a week, you were apart of me. And you will forever be apart of my story.

I love you, sweet baby.

  3. So very sorry. I understand entirely what you mean. I've miscarried twice - once at the same point and you and once at 8 weeks.

I found out last Monday (a week ago now) that I'm also very unexpectedly pregnant with #3. I'll have an ultrasound next week to see if it's viable. To quote Upstairs Downstairs, nothing is ever the same after losing a child "even hope is tainted".

Praying for your healing and comfort...

  35. So sorry Jenni. I know how hard it is to go through. I miscarried twins (one at 6w one at 8w) then I had another miscarriage at 9 weeks about a year later. As others have said...your angel will be with you forever. The Bump Loss board was a great help to me.
